RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Propane Alarm

Mine went off randomly the other day. I pushed the reset button and, not hard, and it went right back into the unit. The alarm silenced but I’m thinking a new unit might be in the works for me as well.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Solar Connector

I bought a couple of MC4 connectors and attached to the ends of the SAE plug wires and plugged the ones from the panel into the plug, basically he same as the adaptor but I made it myself. It was easy and works well.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Forgot to latch

Ok, tough to admit but I forgot to latch my roof down. Twenty miles later a trucker pulls up next to me, honks and points up. I pull over and the front is fully up. I don’t notice anything immediately wrong. Anybody else want to admit they’ve done this? Results?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Leaking Marker Lights

I am getting water in the cab overhang, right beneath the marker lights. The water seems to be coming in where the wires penetrate the aluminum. I taped up the lights on one side to try and isolate the problem which seemed to work but this morning had a small amount underneath the driver’s side...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West roof lifting helper shocks thingys

I have a 160 watt panel between the vents but more close to the forward vent on my Grandby. I use 40lbs in the front and 30lbs in the back. It still takes some umpf to get the front up. Easier when I raise slower.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Sure Power 1314 versus 1315 Battery Separator

Thanks. I’m going to look into a swap out. I don’t need all the bells and whistles but would like the option of keeping my truck batteries charged while I am parked.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Sure Power 1314 versus 1315 Battery Separator

Is it as easy as switching out wires to swap a Sure Power for a Blue Sea or is there a need to run new wires to the plug etc. Thanks.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West King-sized Bed-slide for Cabover Bed?

Love the king pull out on the Grandby. Not difficult to step to the bed and crawling over. The front dinette set as a bed is also very nice for lazy rainy days.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Roof panel edges.

Good to hear from others. My 2015 Grandby has a few spots starting to do this. Small cracks, but still not what I like to see.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Water Tank Mangement

What process do people use to flush the tank? When I drain I use the valve on the outside but it takes a really long time. Is this the flush procedure? Thanks for any advice.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Jack Brackets

I know they use aluminum and that would be preferred but steel is cheaper and easier for me to source where I live. Also, I'm only using the things a couple of times a year. I typically do not travel with the jacks on.

Will standard steel plate, say 1/4 x5", from the hardware store be strong enough for the extension plates or should I be looking for a special type of steel? Thanks

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Weighing my FWC options (shell vs standard; fleet vs swift; now vs later) help talk me through it pl

I put my Grandby on a trailer that became a flatbed after I cut the sides off. I store my camper in the garage in the winter with the top popped up. Sometimes I run a dehumidifier inside because it seems to be constantly damp where I live.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West King Bed Upgrade size?

I don't mind the maneuvering. In the Grandby there is still enough room to sit at the table with the bed fully slide out.
