RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Current Spike in Gas Prices

Regular in Tucson is below $2.10 at numerous stations. It is almost hard to believe. Harder yet to understand.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Posting in the Advocacy forum - Primer

Hi Jane H You mention sarcasm and belligerence, but humor is also path that often doesn't work well in this e-type communication. Unless the person is a very good writer or the idea extremely simple, it goes awry and is misunderstood causing ill-feelings or anger. I've had enough attempts go...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Friends Took Us to the Movies Today...................

It is almost unimaginable. Sometimes just seeing stills from the video gives me the willies. I guess I'm just a lightweight.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Favorite Books

A book I recently ran across is Gila: Life and Death of an American River by Gregory McNamee. It was written in 1994, but he revised and expanded it in 2012 so it is far from dated. It covers the entire drainage from New Mexico to its confluence with the Colorado. It covers prehistory...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Eastern Sierra Fall Color

What a trip. California certainly has the places to see. I think you guys see those other pop-up campers partly because you have one and partly because there are more of us 'old' folks out there who want a little more comfort these days. Thanks for keeping us inspired.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lamoille Canyon Fire - Nevada

We've had trouble here in the Tucson area with people target practicing with explosive ammunition and starting a fire in the Santa Rita mountains. I hope that doesn't turn out to be the cause there. We were at Lamoille Canyon early last spring, but didn't get far up as snow blocked the road...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Voice and Internet From Any ATT, Verizon or T-Mobile Tower - $65/mo.

Gosh, where is Edward Abbey when you need him? A few years ago when calling cards still existed, I had CREDO as a long distance provider and using one from them I tried calling several times from San Diego to Tucson one evening from a couple of different pay phones. I never did get through...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Front End Rebuild on our Ford Ranger

Hi ski3pin I am curious that you replaced the inner tie rod ends and not the rack and pinion. Most new racks come with inner tie rod ends, and you did replace almost all the other parts. I have a 98 Ranger 195,000 miles and it still has most of the original parts except one upper ball joint...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camping along the Loneliest Hwy?

I've traveled south to north in Nevada from Las Vegas up to Wells and used mostly secondary roads. The country is so empty that if you wanted to encounter other people you had to seek them out. Even when we were on main highways there were enough roads leading into mountain ranges or canyons...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Kofa NWR Weekend Escape

KOFA is beautiful. The photo with the cholla in the foreground has KOFA Butte in the distance. It is fairly easy to get up on top of it by hiking around the backside, past KOFA Dam, and the view is worth it. Lawnmowerman and I have hiked to within a few feet of the top of Castle Dome Mt, and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tucson, Arizona Area in February

Above Cayuse referred to FS Rd 39, it runs west from the Nogales area to Arivaca, fairly close to the US/Mexico border. It is a spectacular and extremely remote area, within 80 miles of Tucson. Prior to the economic turn down, it was a prime passage for illegal immigration, but since then...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Pictures from trip to Escalante UT

Camping on most reservations requires a permit from the tribe. The Navajo Nation for sure requires one. Any hiking or backpacking also requires one. There is a Navajo Nation Parks and Recreation Department. Indians have been screwed for a long time, it is good to show them some respect Thanks
