Canadians and Alaskans use mostly campers made in Canada. You'll rarely see an ATC, Fourwheel or any popup. Conditions are just too severe for USA made campers. Though this guy uses one, and his video is worth buying! http://www.aurorahunter.com/

I don't recall if I had reception in Gerlach itself, but just south of Gerlach I was able to use the phone, check emails etc. It was near whatever the industrial/mine area was maybe 3 or 4 miles south. I was traveling north so once I checked my emails, I didn't bother to check in Gerlach only...

I had great ATT cell phone coverage, even near Virgin Springs in Sheldon NWR and surprisingly most of Hart Mountain. Just up the hill a small walk from the Hot Springs camp at Hart Mountain had excellent ATT reception.
