Aluminess Bumpers Sweet ! : ) Also look forward to our new articles coming soon on the build up of our new Toyota Tacoma -- "2012 Tacoma Build Up". Can we have some more photos Stan? I would like to see what you have going with the rear bumper. Are there storage boxes back there? How is...

I have about 2 Weeks in total. The G/F wants to do it closer to 12. I think 12 weeks sounds much better than 2. :D

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lake Superior

The route along the North Shore of Lake Superior is stunningly beautiful, with many camping opportunities. Going south and getting on an interstate will be the fastest, but you will see nothing. Where do you want to spend your time? If you went south you could then spend the couple days that...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West LED Porch light

Get this one, it is perfect. (You will need to install an inside switch for it.) Thanks to westyss for posting information about his outside light. The Smart Light with Star Monitor I also installed this outside light, these are great, has a motion detector and came with LED, very...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West ''Siphoning'' Propane?

I do it all the time. Fill a 1-1/2 gallon tank from a 5 gallon. I have a hose with 2 male fittings on it. Hang the big tank upside down, open both valves and open the vent screw until vapor comes out. Remember, LPG is a liquid and that is what you are transferring. I verify how full it is on a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Thoughts on the NCO Cajita

All RVs represent trade-offs, and we have to decide what we must give up in order to continue camping. Very true. Keep us posted on what you decide to do.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Quick question, what is this?

Noticed new skirts under the trailers on the big rigs. It looked like it was for wind deflection to increase aerodynamics and increase mileage. We hadn't seen these before. The rigs with the ''skirts'' have a lot less dirty air behind them. I have first hand knowledge of this because I bike on...

I understand that it is ''our'' forum, but somebody did just buy it to make money from it. Maybe if it was member owned/run and had no advertising.

If I remember correctly the Falcon will not slide all the way forward. So it will sit about 1 foot back from the cab.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Jerry Can in Your Truck Camper?

I got under the Tacoma yesterday to look for any spots underneath. It looks like there is room for Jerry can along the frame between the left rear wheel and the bumper. I am going to Northern Tool to buy a Jerry can, walk out to the parking lot and see if it fits. I'll return it and do with...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Jerry Can in Your Truck Camper?

Just because something can be done doesn't mean it should be done. Yes, I understand that. I know there is a solid seal because the cans will hold a high vacuum/pressure for several days, even a couple weeks. Like I said, I would be fine with carrying them inside the camper if it was diesel...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Jerry Can in Your Truck Camper?

I carry my gas in Wedco Nato (non-CARB) cans, and have never had any leaks. They also hold a seal going through 10,000 foot elevation changes. So I would feel okay with carrying them inside the camper if it was diesel, but with gas it is still a bit worrying.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West ''Siphoning'' Propane?

Somewhere I read something about filling the small camper propane tank by connecting it a larger bulk tank. We recently started using a propane stove, and we have two 100lb portable tanks for the oven. If I am correct I can connect my 15lb camper tank to the 100lb tank and the propane will...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Best truck for an Eagle/Bobcat?

Alhtough,Overland seems to make the 1/2 ton work. Not sure if you have read through my build thread, but I am doing without a lot of things that most people have in their camper. Not much GVWR to work with on the Tacoma. If you want to load up the camper I would even look at a full 1 ton...
