RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West gap between top of truck and camper

To start with I am mounting my four MaxTrax in that space. I would like to add a long tube shaped storage space also. I have also seen RotoPax fuel cans mounted under the cabover.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Sold - 2000 Four Wheel Camper - Hawk

I will be surprised if this makes it past its initial WTW offering. Should be sold by days end. :)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West camper insurance

Since I have a 2000, I made sure to note the amount of money I wanted the policy for since pricing guides are completely out of line with the resale value on these. This is a very good point. The book value on these campers is really low, and that is why sometimes you can find them for a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West camper insurance

I have coverage on the camper itself. I think it is about $16 a month for 14k of coverage, if I remember correctly. Getting the camper covered was a bit odd, as most places would cover a trailer but not a truck camper.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West potty?

A toliet inside the camper? Really? I don't s*** in my kitchen (actually not far from the mess kit) at home, and I am not going to s*** in my kitchen when camping. CWD I do not sleep in my kitchen at home, but it also can not take me to some amazing remote locations in relative comfort. You...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tacoma Jack

Do you have a recommendation? Perhaps even one that can fit in the stock location? Did some research, and found that US Jack and Norco (from Japan) make high quality bottle jacks. I also learned some of the reasons why these jacks are better than the totally unimpressive Torin bottle jacks...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tacoma Jack

However, I think you'd be much happier with a good-quality bottle jack. Do you have a recommendation? Perhaps even one that can fit in the stock location? (I currently carry a Tundra jack. It fits in the stock location but has a bit more heft and height.)

Life is short...so if not now, then when? I agree, no guarantee of tomorrow. Live life the best you can in the present. Congrats on the new FWC! Thanks for the photos.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2014 Toyota Tundra

I just wish they would put in a larger tank. As Gene noted his truck has a 36 gallon tank. Sure would be nice.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2014 Toyota Tundra

the big disapointment for us toyota fans is the truck is mostly a cosmetic upgrade- the engines and drivetrain / brakes all seem to be the same as a 2012 unit- x2 sigh

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Froli system bed springs

My Hawk was ordered with the queen slide-out. I removed the slide out panel and just use the main mattress and sleep side-to- side. In my Eagle I need to sleep N-S, and at 6'4" tall I really need to sleep N-S.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Froli system bed springs

Nice! I wanted to do a Froli bed, but like you said it will not work with a N-S sleeping arrangement.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Order Placed for New Fleet

The first drive with it though will still probably be a nail-biter. No nail biting needed. It is definitely different than driving an empty truck. But, I was really pleased when I first got the new camper on, as it handled much better than my old setup of a topper and sleeping platform. I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Racetrack Via Hunter Mtn Rd, Death Valley

Hunter Mountain is a high pass, with some steep grades. I am not sure if I would head up there if the weather is questionable, unless I was looking to get stuck. I air down my tires to about 25-30 psi. But so much depends on your personal set of tires. 35 psi would be a good place to start. If...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Order Placed for New Fleet

First off, I love my Timbrens, The just work for me. Second, drivers side lean will be a problem with a Gen2 Tacoma. The Gen2 Tacoma has a lean to the drivers side from the factory, and adding the (lopsided) weight of the camper will make it lean even more. (Personally this was not a...
