    October Trip to Utah

Before the Bigfoot I had a Casita. I suggest your friends look at a Casita. I liked the Casita but switched to the Bigfoot because: Easier to have a second battery. In a Casita I would have had to switch to sealed batteries with one inside the trailer. My Casita was welded to the axle (not...

    October Trip to Utah

I drive a Dodge Dakota 4WD and tow a 17.5 ft Bigfoot. I don't remember the weight. At times I lust for a pop-up camper. But with two dogs and the desire to only camp off season; resulting in more inside time, I have the trailer.

    First Longer Trip advice appreciated!

One thing I've learned is that dealing with life's chores takes more time than I had anticipated. Shopping for food, doing the laundry, shopping for some repair item, driving in from the boondocks to get gas, getting water, looking for a place to camp, etc. The last item I have to work on...

    South of Needles Utah

My city truck is a Dodge Dakota, with 4 wheel drive. Nothing added for off road driving except off road tires. Yes, I've read the warnings about not trying to go to Beef Basin if it has rained. I've heard that it takes 2.5 hours to drive in. Is that true? I'm not sure of the length of the...

If you go to a Weather Underground Wonder map you can click on "active fires" and it will show you the smoke plumes. But, I have no idea how accurate it is.

    Seattle Camping

I live in the Seattle area. There is no good location to simple pull over and sleep for the night. Additionally, the Seattle area has seen an increase in homeless people living in RVs which is increasing the chance for people to call the police. Potential locations I know of are: A few miles...

    Dinosaur Trip to Utah

I drive a simple city pickup truck. A Dodge Dakota was nothing special with no camper (I pull a trailer). I was told there is only the one small hill the and rest of the way is flat. And it is a very small hill. I've wondered if there are ATVs to rent in the area that can get you to the...

    Help Deciding

My thought is for you to think about how you like to travel. I have a small trailer (Casita, now Bigfoot) and my system is to get to a location and park the trailer in one spot for a number of days and take day trips exploring. Then I move to a new camping site about 2 to 3 hours away. But...
