Rotopax Carrier mounted under camper, over cab.

Seriously cool storage idea, maxtraxx, solar panel, Rotopax, all kinds of stuff. Could do a design that incorporated an angled front to aid in aerodynamics. Awesome idea sir!

A Lift / leveling kit question

Besides adding clearance and bling does adding a 3-4 " lift do anything to help with suspension? How would a leveling kit work for carrying a camper? I've got people trying to sell me on different things and need some honest opinions. Yes I will be traveling off road, hopefully not rock crawling.

    Another Wind Faring/ Deflector

I don't know about MPG but everything I've read says it reduces wind noise and bug splatter. One would think it would help with aerodynamics, drag or mpg.

Ditto on under the bed storage and maybe some sort of optional wind deflector/faring.

    Atwood Furnace Noise

I've never experienced camping with any kind of heater besides my Wiggy's 0* bag and my dog. If anything I'm trying to cool down most often, but I do look forward to a wintertime camp out using my forced air furnace in Yellowstone when the tourists are all back in China.

    Storage Solutions

I've had something of a preparedness mindset and every time I head out west. I always come back with lots of the same goods I never ate. Hoping to save money on food when on the road and camping, I probably pay for it in fuel loss. Part of me wants to drag my M416 behind me for extra storage...

    Stock aluminum or Yakima racks

The Marine approach sounds good if I can find the correct size tubing to replace my Yakima bars for lighter weight yet durable and corrosion resistance.

So what do you fellow travelers do for packing in that extra bit of gear, where do you put it and how does it all fit. Do you tow a trailer for all that extra gear, or do you just make do? What are things you just can't go without. Do the things you bring have multiple uses? Do you take the...

    Canoe or kayak on FWC

Hello there buckland...Super cool mod. I just finished reading the thread about mounting Rotopax on the back side of the camper, by Kilroy. I like them on top. Its less intrusive on the roof. It's certainly Outta Sight!

    Colorado Flat Tops

Awesome pictures, I love it out there. I spend a little of every summer visiting friends just outside of Rifle Colorado. Last year I found myself and friends up on the Flat Tops Wilderness area and the White River Plateau. I've done a bit of fossil hunting near Meeker and Craig. Great camping at...

East of the Mississippi FWC owners chime in

It's great to "meet" everyone, thanks for posting and keep them coming maybe we can get an idea where most everyone is, then figure on where a great meetup spot would be. Thanks to everyone for chiming in!

    FWC Gatherings?

Sounds like a really neat place. It's just a bit far. I wanna do one once I get my camper over here somewhere. I just gotta find a great location like that. Thanks Stan for giving me a template for which to work with. Dan

East of the Mississippi FWC owners chime in

I know the website is aptly named Wander The West, but I'd like to call out to any and all FWC owners in the eastern USA. So everyone feel free to chime in, tell us where you're from or maybe where you are (hopefully not at home) what kind of rig are you driving and what are you carrying...

    Taking The Plunge

Well thanks to you sir. If ours are in fact on the same shipment, then I look forward to possibly meeting you at MLO. Maybe we east coasters will have a rally of our own someday. I think we need to get our campers 1st though. Lucky you being so close I'm approximately 9.5 hours away just outside...

    FWC Gatherings?

Are there ever gatherings of like minded FWC owners? Like a big rendezvous of sorts, besides of course the overland expo's of which I've been to two already. I'd like to hit the trail with other owners sometime and share stories and experiences. I realize the east coast is limited in FWC owners...

    Goose-Gear

I had looked at them when I too was thinking about building out a shell, looks like high quality, but they seem too cost prohibitive. Dave Bennett over at americanadventurist.com has a set under his Flippac. They do look awesome.

    Taking The Plunge

Today I placed my order and initial down payment on a new 2015 FWC Hawk. I'm ordering it through the Mainline Overland dealership in West Chester Pa. They are the closest dealer to where I live. I'm purchasing the base model and a number of upgrades. I'd love to do a build of my own, but I...
