    Roadmaster Active Suspension

I wish there was an easier way to upgrade all the items you mentioned. Short of purchasing a new vehicle.

    Roadmaster Active Suspension

I'm actually going with firestone ride rites, E rated Load tires, Bilstein shocks, and whatever else I can to aid the hauling capacity of the truck. Buying a 3/4 ton just isn't an option right now. In order to compensate for some extra weight I'll more than likely pull my re-modified M416...

    Winter Fun

I am trying to be patient waiting for my Hawk so I too can go experience some winter camping in style. Nice set up Craig.

East of the Mississippi FWC owners chime in

Well, I'm putting together a list of possible places to meet. Let's give the people signing in a chance to throw in their input about where they're from and possible Rally places. I too have always wanted to adventure towards the New England states and I think the Shenandoah Valley is beautiful...

    Bear spray vs a gun

In the future when observing persons feeding the bears, spray them with the bear spray. Also most bear sprays are made with an added dye to track down which ever bear has attacked or charged someone, so they can either relocate it or in some cases shoot it. Sounds like a good idea so you can...

East of the Mississippi FWC owners chime in

In March I'll be picking mine up from Mainline Overland somewhere around the 12-14 the weather Permitting. When are you getting yours DanT? I'm game for a rally. Anybody have any suggestions for a great meeting/rally point?

    Expedition Trailer Thread

Thanks John, those are lots of good ideas and great advice. I really don't want to sell the trailer. Maybe just re-modify it to meet my new needs. I'm done with the roof top tent. The trailer could rise to meet many of my needs. How long does it take to unattach/reattach a FWC on your vehicle...

    Taking The Plunge

According to Matt at Mainline Overland; Dan, This is what the word is from FWC: FWC uses a 12 gauge wire from the solar plug to the batteries. We have checked with the panel manufacturer and the 12 gauge is fine. FWC will not do the wiring in an 8 gauge wire. The wiring from the truck...

New FWC chassis for Grandby flatbed possibility

    Expedition Trailer Thread

I'm definitely on the edge wether or not to tow the trailer. It's not very heavy or large. It can be left to reserve your campsite in a campground too. My V8 doesn't even know it's there, except when the mileage decreases. I could use it to haul my mining gear, extra fuel, Dutch oven, mechanical...

Favorite signs you've come across while wandering?

I have another picture of this sign on another forum thread. Couldn't find it so I pulled this off the net. It's just outside of the Vermillion Cliffs at a place called Navajo Bridges. I laughed when I first read it, but apparently it's famous for bungee jumpers. Uh not me!

In Olympic NP and the Hoh Rainforest; funny thing was it was the only place that it wasn't raining over a two week time period and was very beautiful.

Idaho. I've driven by the home made half track twice in my meandering over a few years time. Should mount a Grandby on it and paint it camo.

    Taking The Plunge

So if FWC is connecting the wires on the way to the solar controller, then a larger gauge wire is needed, like an 8 or a 10, but if the wires are run separate then 12 May be sufficient. I just learned that the larger the number = smaller wire. Thanks

    Taking The Plunge

According to DonC on his solar thread, FWC claims that all solar wiring is 12 AWG I believe he states that in his 1st post. But thanks! My question is which is better? I'm not an electrician. http://www.wanderthewest.com/forum/topic/9804-my-solar-project/
