    Upgrading Chevy Brakes

I don't have a Chevy, I have a Ford. I usually find I get better info on my truck mechanicals from the Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forum - www.ford-trucks.com - than I get on RV forums. You might consider searching for a similar Chevy truck forum. If it's anything like the Ford site, they will...

Do you use water tank for drinking water?

How big is your water tank? The recommended amount is 1/4 cup of bleach for each 16 gallons of water. You need to not only sanitize the tank, but also your hot water heater and all your water lines. Drain your water tank and your water heater, then close both drains. Hook your water hose up...

    Maximum camper size

A couple of thoughts: If you are going to be sliding this in and out of the bed, you really can't go 50.55 inches wide. You need a little 'wiggle room'. I think most truck campers are around 48 inches wide. Why do you want to take your tailgate off? I believe Alaska Campers build models...

You know you're a geezer when.......................

My first computer was also a TRS 80. My first attempt at networking was to use Desqview 386 to tie two computers together as a computer BBS, running Wildcat software. And I ran the Mace Utilities rather than the Norton Utilities. Peter Norton may have invented the UnDelete command, but Paul...

    RVs and Lemon Laws

This probably doesn't apply very much to truck campers but it's interesting nonetheless. Steve Lehto is a lawyer in Michigan who specializes in consumer protection and "lemon laws". He also runs a very popular YouTube channel. He's just done one titled FIGHT THE URGE TO BUY AN RV. The basics...

    Truck Worries, Woes and Considerations

Between all the problems their diesels had, plus the spark plug issues their gas engines had for nearly a decade, I don't trust ANY new Ford engine. I'm running an F250 with the 6.2 gas engine, but I only bought it AFTER it had been out for a few years and was known not to have any outstanding...

    Truck Worries, Woes and Considerations

The people at the Long Long Honeymoon YouTube channel had their diesel truck "bulletproofed" and documented the whole thing. They show the cab lifting rig at around 5:00 minutes into this video: It was quite interesting to watch.

Do You Carry Heavy Duty Chain?

My father taught me that trick also, and I used it once to pull a buddy home when his car died one night. That chain-in-pipe trick must have been fairly well known once upon a time.

XP Camper Relaunched as Nimble Vehicles

I'm thinking they've picked the worst possible time for this relaunch. 1: The economy is going to be very bad for the immediate future. People aren't going to have money for luxury items like this. Plus, I suspect that people will be selling off RVs, boats, and other "toys" at bargain...

Using Receiver Hitch As A Lifting Point With A High Lift Jack

My father once managed to bury our Case tractor in our pasture - the one with a stream running though it so it could give a fair impression of a swamp. I got it out eventually with a come-along. But that was enough to convince me that I'll rob liquor stores if I have to in order to have an...

    Ford 2.7L Ecoboost vs. 5.0L
