    Aftermarket Battery Monitor

they are good. the 24 volt unit is safe and reliable. the electronic diff between the two meters is not going to provide any measure of "toughness", just a different full scale limit. i mounted mine on the wood panel near the battery facing rear so i could see it while standing outside the...

    F-150 with Keystone Finally Fixed

For sure, he just seemed to present it with a slight chip on his shoulder about it and I'm not sure why. aaaah well the same gets said about me now and then....but i know its not the intention. i know in my case i get a bit passionate defending my POV.

    Quick removal camper jacks?

A while back I proposed that a guy with a Bigfoot who had bent one of the jacks in Baja make them removable. My thought was to make angle plates that bolted to the corners of the camper that had a plate sticking out at some agreeable angle. In that plate would be 'key-hole' slots. The jacks...

    SurePower 1314/1315 vs. "battery switch"

What type of battery are you running in your truck and how often (if at all) have you had to replace it? I just don't see anything good coming out of running a truck starting battery in parallel with camper deep cycles. The normal truck battery isn't made for deep cycle use. Now if you're...

    SurePower 1314/1315 vs. "battery switch"

it just does not seem prudent to expose the campers electrical system to the vehicle starting system. while i understand the thought that "there is a spare battery there, take advantage" i dont see how you can do it without providing an adequate current path i.e. big cables. big..... exposing...

    battery storage

What do you think the odds of them actually shorting out are? They'd have to complete a circuit. i had a 48pk of AA's that burst after being washboarded! they were all over the place. i just want to keep them together so that i have a clear understanding of the count and their age. i would...

    Weatherproof 12V connectors

I'm digging up old threads here, but what about this connector? Think 15 amps is enough for current from the alternator to the aux battery? http://www.westmarin...&classNum=10615 its really risky. IMHO

    battery storage

You mean something like this? Container Store I just put these containers in a small stuff sack. Fresh batteries in the containers, used (rechargable) go in the stuff sack loose. you see! this is why i post this stuff....was not aware of this type of product! thanx!

    battery storage

i carry stuff that uses AA batteries. If I get a pack of these, drive over washboards, they get all jumbled up in the package and I am sure that some must short out. Does anyone have a good solution for carrying a stock of these in a "neat & tidy" fashion?

    Refrigerator Problem

Well, last night my refrigerator started working again. And I'm at over 9,000 feet in elevation. When I get home from this trip I'll check out the burner slits and see if they need to be cleaned. i wonder, if you peek in the observation port, what does the flame look like? blue and "active"...

    Norcold Fridge

I contend that these fridge units are not that picky! The manf specs +- 3 and 6 degrees fore/aft and port/strbd. I glued a couple of those hoppy levels to the side of my camper and use those to get thing adequate for sleeping. We are good with a wheel a couple of inches high or low....i like...

    Chimney charcoal starter

in a pinch any cylinder will do.......a fosters can works well. the wad of paper can support the briquets just fine. coffee cans work good. no reason to buy one....just need some gloves or tongs to tip the coals out since cans have no handles.
