AirBags for a Eagle camper on a Tacoma?

I would not suggest relying on any airbag for carrying the load. They are great for leveling the load though. I started with airbags....they worked okay after some modification. I eventually wised up and had some custom leaf springs made...

Wanted : Four Wheel Camper, Hawk model

Thanks Cort, I was looking at the ATC campers. They are almost the same as the FWC, however I wonder why they don't ever have water heaters? Either camper would work just fine. Jim I think the guys at ATC feel that the water heaters take up to much room and prefer to keep things a bit more...

    Truck Bed Tearing in Baja

its strange how some folks have issues with the turnbuckles loosing up....I have not had this issue at all and I think(meaning I could be totally wrong) a lot of this may have to do with the angle of the turnbuckles.....the front and back should be pulling against each other and they should do...

    Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area

you bring up a good point...as you point out subsidence is huge in the central valley caused by the extraction of ground water, compaction of the soils....etc. There are actually some telephone poles that have old ground surface elevations marked on them that will blow you away. I want to be...

LED interior lights vs incandescent and Fluorescent

The other thing that is nice in the ATC Bobcat and assuming all ATC's, is the master kill switch. I assume that the newer FWC's must have something similar. When I am away from the camper for an extended period of time...especially at a trail head I kill all power to the camper so that no one...

seeking pop up camper for Tacoma

Welcome to WTW, I am running a fully loaded Bobcat (minus the fridge)on a 2001 Tacoma. I love it and the guys at ATC are the best! It was necessary to do some suspension mods in order to be able to travel in the Backcountry with confidence that nothing would break. If you are planning on...

    Tire Pressure

one easy test to do on a weekend when you have some time is to spread marking chalk on your front and rear tires. Make sure you go past the tread and a little down the side wall. Then take it for a drive and see where the chalk wears off. That will show you what your contact patch is. If you...

Suspension recommendation for a Toyota Tacoma

With that weight and the amount of time you plan on leaving it on the truck you can't get away with just airbags or timbrems. With just the airbags you would be asking for trouble (if you had one fail you would be up **it creek without a paddle). Take a look a the mods that I did. While my...
