    FWC Newbie Question....

If I put it between my garage lights, I can even pop it up after a trip to dry out. Now that is luxury :D

    FWC Newbie Question....

Since my truck handles better with the camper on, I have little incentive to take it off. How many of you have a flat area for loading and unloading? Doing it on my sloped driveway wasn't much fun. Nothing a few blocks won't handle. I load and unload on sloping gravel. I just use some 2X6...

    FWC Newbie Question....

read more closely,"I have everything already loaded minus food and beer...". I don't think they make jacks strong enough for me to leave the beer loaded  Next rally I'm showing up with Odoul's just for DD Cort

    FWC Newbie Question....

Brandon, I would not worry about mounting and unmounting the camper. I do it on a regular basis and as DD has said it will take you about 1.5 to do. And that includes bolting on the jacks, sliding the camper in, securing it, and then taken the jacks back off. I leave my camper ready to go...

notice that the mount and the bushing aren't quite lined up....I made sure that the sway bushing mounts were on the right side...they are different and you have to make sure to get them right...or at least turned right.....this was the best alignment I could get. I am hoping that this will...

    Rack

The rack (Stearing gear), showing drivers side mount, central mount and passenger mount. Doesn't look to rusty at all . Don't worry there are actually jack stands holding the truck up. You don't think I would crawl under it with just a bottle jack holding it up now do you.

Custom camper project part 1: spec and design

everything looks good in a design program.....I think that it is invaluable to build a mock up.....sit in it have a few beers in it and get a feel for it. I think this is a great way to go in terms of figuring out your space. Hopefully the end product have a bit more structural integrity :D...

    2001 Tacoma Front End Maintenance

So I have recently noticed a bit of uneven wear (feathering) on my tires. I have had my alignment done recently so I was wondering what was going on. I crawled under the truck and starting checking stuff out. At first glance I didn't notice anything obvious. I had a buddy of mine turn the...

Since several people have mentioned John McPhee I would recommend picking up his entire collection, Annals of the Former World, which includes Basin and Range, In Suspect Terrain, Rising from the Plains, Assembling California, and Crossing the Craton. Another Good one is History of the Sierra...

Custom camper project part 1: spec and design

I think that we should all remember that compared to traditional hard sided campers popups have a very low center of gravity. The 8" inches of height gained due to the flatbed is easily offset, as DD has stated, by being able to mount appliances lower. In my opinion, I have not actually worked...
