Cool trip! I nearly took the Amtrak from El Paso to Bloomington, IL a couple weeks ago but ended up taking the motorcycle. Took 2 1/2 days including a 9 hour layover in San Antonio where they said there would be times without power but you could stay on board. I'll have to try some other time...

Not having to carry extra equipment is a plus to me. My lifter thingies are always on and ready to do the job, up or down, never have to think about them and they work really well. Install was pretty simple as well.
