    BFG A/T's kinda disappointing?

The chart below didn't copy well but does list users surveys, highest rated tires on top, the BF AT KO's are 10 of 19 on this Tire Rack survey. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=ORAT I'm about to replace my Firestone Destinations with another set. I wish they'd...

    Mounting Wave 3 in Hawk

The whole camper does get/stay warm, just not as fast as with the forced-air furnace. But I didn't use the furnace at all on this chilly-night trip, just the Wave 6. I think the fact that you just used the Wave says quite a bit. The speed of heating never seems like an issue for me. Last...

    Mounting Wave 3 in Hawk

The obvious downside of using the heater on legs is that it's on the floor and potentially in the way in an already cramped space...but so far I've put up with that downside. YMMV. :) I have my 3 on the legs, usually sits facing forward from the back door but with it being on a 5' hose I can...

    Astro Thread

Thanks for the photos, tripod or not. Looks like only a little bit of copper color? How copper or red did it look to your eyes? Didn't get to see much of the eclipse from my house. The Moon was down behind the trees and then behind the ridge. Got a good view out my back door here in Las...

    Fall!

If there's more snow than expected, I'll loan you my snowshoes so you can get your tree :) Permits are still $5 - can't beat that. Got my permit, will be heading up, how's the snow cover? We got 4" here at 4200" just North of Las Cruces and is, too me, nasty cold. I missed most of it as I was...

    Aliens

Two aliens landed in the Arizona desert near a gas station that was closed for the night. They approached one of the gas pumps and the younger alien addressed it saying, 'Greetings, Earthling.. We come in peace. Take us to your leader.' The gas pump, of course, didn't respond...

    So where am I?

Good stuff! I've looked at Caprock Canyon on maps (and the TX parks website), but haven't been there yet. It's so close, too. I definitely need to get over there. I'm less than a year from retiring, and it's nice to keep adding to "The List"! I found them because I travel to the Midwest for...

    So where am I?

Wow, Barko, those three TX state parks are close to me--only the OK panhandle is between! I'll have to zip over and do some hiking and biking. What were the temps like when you were there last month? It can get damn cold in the panhandle, big cold fronts roll down the plains from Canada...

    So where am I?

Enough suspense :D The topography surprised me, it is actually Caprock Canyon State park, in TX, home of the state Buffalo herd! About 460 miles North of Big Bend in the Texas panhandle. If you stay on I40 you get across that area quickly but there are interesting places to be missed. I have...

    Old style propane tank

Is yours a horizontal or a vertical tank? And in what orientation do you have it when filling? Mine has never taken more than 3.5 gallons...so that's why I'm wondering... It is a horizontal. I think t was vertical when filled. That was the 1st time I ever ran it empty. Empty meaning the...

New Road Atlas -- a trip TOOL

I know what you mean... Ever since I passed 40 (which was quite a while ago...) I've used reading glasses. So, for me, since I'm already wearing those cheaters for reading anything closer than arms-length, I'm OK with somewhat smaller print of the spiral-bound version. I have reading glasses...

    Old style propane tank

I just had my empty tank filled and it took 4.3 gallons which seems to be as full as it could get as you need room in there for expansion right? Mine is the "old" type. Just needs to get re-certified/inspected every 5 years.

New Road Atlas -- a trip TOOL

one because it didn't have enough detail for northern Virginia (why would anyone want to go there?) I'm not too concerned about the Virginia part. I would like to have the spiral but opted for larger :( $10 delivered is not bad.

How to get the most from your space

    Which Wave to go

Thanks!, I guess I'll go with the wave also- Due to local atmospheric conditions heater may not re-light. That is what got me, when at elevation is often when I most need the heat! Although one year in Big Bend, at 1800' by the river, it dropped to 9 :o . That was in my tent.
