RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Solar Panel Kit For $449.99

Rich - We put in the warm white ones from superbrightleds.com http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/commerce.cgi?product=OTHER&cart_id=9474696.9592#1156-PCB-W24. They don't produce much heat, so we just rest the panel on the lens (we actually turned the panels facing up...much softer...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Solar Panel Kit For $449.99

Recently picked up a used 80W panel off craigslist and purchased a sunforce 7amp controller. The panel is 1.5 years old and was used as a display in a former solar store, so it saw very little sun. The only things we need to power in our camper are an Engel 40 and LED lights, and occasionally...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Bed Ideas

Agree with jcfly...the foam is HARD. Our former '87 Westy had the same thickness foam, but was MUCH softer. In both situations, we added a regular egg-crate foam...we found the memory foam we tried compressed too much.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New (to us) Ranger II

Thanks Stan. I should have explained what I was doing all that for...but you got it. I bought the bumper kit from FWC, but was trying to avoid drilling into the camper. Sounds like attaching the bumpers near the bottom of the camper might be the best bet though. Do you have any pictures of...

Was wondering if some of you out there might be able to give me your opinion on this. I didn't want to drill into the camper, so came up with this (see pics). It feels solid underneath all the way until about 1/2" past the lowest vertical framing. The bumpers attached to the rear bed rail...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Fast Gun Derringers

Any feedback on those yet? We're switching from the bolt down method to turnbuckles and thought the derringers looked appealing due to the ease of installation...if it is that easy! Also looking at the shorter Happijacs as a spring loaded option, but not sure if they are adjustable in length?

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Bags Or Springs

Just added Firestone bags to our 2009 Tacoma. Not sure if the brackets are the same for your bags, but I aimed the brass elbows towards the rear bumper ends...that is, if the front of the truck is north, the passenger side points SE and the driver's side points SW. The air lines run along the...

Thanks all Thanks for the kind words all.......I'm definitely not the master craftsman, but it works for us. And again, thanks to everybody who has posted their mod and trip info on this forum. To address a couple of questions/comments: Stan: The person we bought the camper from had it on a...

Camping Our first trip with the FWC was to the hills behind Lake Cachuma near Santa Barbara. We installed some supersprings, so that helped a lot, but the small 4-cyl doesn't really appreciate the hills. Our Campsite Hiking around On the way up Figueroa Mtn. Rd.

A few more mods.... Forgot to add a picture of the setup! Also, some more mods...originally we had a door covering the former fridge cabinet, but found that it was basically impossible to access from outside the camper, so we installed some vertical cabinets with flush-mount push button...
