Here's some of the work we have accomplished and what we still have ahead. The new floor is in. We replaced the paneling behind the cabinet. The cabinet is being rebuilt with a new counter top. Two drawers are going in below the cabinet. We are also working on the dinette set up for the two of...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Fridge Trouble

Mine works fine. It is hard to see if it is lite. Have to lite it by a match 'cause it is an old one. Keeps food cold even in 90 degree Florida heat. It does blow out as soon as I start down the road though. I got tired of rv refers and bought a marine frig for the motorhome and love it. No...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New To Fwc

Purchased a 85 Grandby three weeks ago. Had been stored in barn for 10 years. Decided to re-work to fit newer trucks. Started last saturday with the frame. Just finished re-installing the inside tonight. Should be finished by monday. It's taken about 40 hours labor, not much in the way of...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Panther Plan

Scott A few nice things about the slide window. Nice to have when picking up long items such as a 7 foot roll of carpet. Stayed inside through window so we could continue to shop without having back door open or tied to roof. Open both sliders and have a long stick to beep horn in case of...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Panther Plan

Today marks 30 days from receipt of the camper. We've had the camper out 3 times and here are some of my negative/critical thoughts/observations/ramblings, and a few positives, too: Table post mount. Bad place: toe stubbing. Do we really need the table? Curtain rods suck: flimsy plus mounts...

Nice unit. I have that awning on my rig. It is a little troublesome to put out but works great in a place like the everglades where the shade can be real handy. Don't be to quick to toss it out. I haven't had any problems with the moved latches. We were in the path of the tornadoes that...

The site comes up as IP Board with a later reference to wander the west. The left side is blank (maybe a picture is there?) The right side has latest topics. If you scroll down then you see fimiliar items on the site. It looks like it will be a great improvement when the kinks get worked...

The site is live on the new forum software and I wanted to give an overview of why and what to expect. The forum will be modified somewhat in look and feel as I get things settled. The advantages of changing to this software are: This software is going to be easier to modify and integrate with...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Ford Ranger Air Suspension Kit

I installed air bags and am real happy with them. My ranger is a 2003 Edge. The camper settled the rig about 2 inches but with 60#s it is 2 inches above stock. Ride and roll improved a lot. Buses, big trucks and luxury cars have been using airbags for years.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Manual trans?

manual trans Another benefit is you can kick start a manual. My ford ranger is a 5 speed manual and low gear is way too high. I get to use 4wheel low a lot. I bought a manual to tow then I find out I could have towed an automatic with a little part from ford. Oh well. Most of the heavy...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West new guy with an eagle

Planned mods I am going to put some air bags on. I didn't think I needed them but a quick lane change almost rolled me. The wife made some nice replacement curtains. I am also installing a isolator for the battery. The solar panel does a good job but when I have multiple nights running the...
