RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Public service announcement: generators

This is quite entertaining. You guys sound like you're roughing it in your primitive camper. Go all out, go build a primitive shelter and do some real camping :D If you can drive there and camp there it isn't much different than an RV park IMO. I do all kinds of camping, I bought my pop-up for...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Hey Deer Hunters...

Sorry Rob, I didn't write the article, nor did I identify "who" was at fault. However, it seems like it was fairly obvious to the USFS "who" was at fault in this instance. Bottom line, your tax dollars and mine had to pay for the removel of this "hunting" camp trash/debris. Hunting obviously...

It seems, and thankfully so, the majority of people who like to camp also hunt here in Mt. Linking one group to a general problem such as litter generally is just an axe grinding. No group has the monopoly on stupidity. On a more positive note come Nov 11 I'll be camping/hunting and don't have...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Furnace won't light

have you tried the reset switch ? ----------------------------------------------- Well, this is a bit embarrasing  but perhaps someone will read this and and prevent their own Duh moment. The battery cables were reversed, corrected the polarity and bang she fired up. I was sitting...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Furnace won't light

I installed the ignitor, still no heat. I read that I should hear it clicking but can't seem to. Maybe it's me. I suppose if it's has spark if I so assume after testing the board and installing the ingitor then I'll look at gas next. I think I'm missing the old pilot light furnaces already.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Furnace won't light

I say it shouldn't matter where you set it-- the thermostat sends a signal as a relay (12v on or off) and not a rheostat/potentiometer (variable resistance based on the setting) to the furnace. If you didn't care about temp settings you could run the furnace with an on/off switch. Thanks, that...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Furnace won't light

Perhaps a dumb question but why is it specified the thermostat be at it's lowest setting on start up? If it's warmer than say 50 degrees which I think is the lowest setting nothing should happen even if everything works, correct? I'm having the same issue, fan blows but no ignition. I'm going to...

I'll look into that. Does anybody make an inverter that doesn't have the plug on the end but rather some leads for a battery connection? I just finished up a dolly for the camper to sit on so I can roll it in and out of the garage. Next step make sure everything works. I have twenty straight...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West What to look for on a used Grandby

Thanks for the info. I do understand the sentiments on generators. However, a good one like a Yamaha or Honda placed in a good spot is so quiet I've never had a complaint when using it with my wall tent. I have a cpap machine so AC power is a must for me. I plan on installing two batteries and I...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West What to look for on a used Grandby

Hello, I just bought a 1998 Grandby and found this forum while doing some searches. I found a lot of info, nice site. I don't have much experience with campers My neighbor used to let me borrow his older Jayco pop-up for hunting season. I like it so I bought this unit off my step-dad, he rarely...
