RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Patching the camper after fridge removal?

Mine does not either but as it does needed to be vented / cooled, I am wondering if anyone is some how using the existing outdoor vents instead of patching outside and butching the inside in changing the path of airflow... I'm curious too, why can't you use the outside vents for ventilation...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Basically Free: FWC Porti Potty

Hi everyone, In our 2004 Grandby, it came with the FWC Porti Potty option. It is labeled Series 100, Model 135. Not sure the actual make. Seems to be in good shape. We are not going to use this option as we have been happy with our PETT toilet setup. Since I don't feel good about asking...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West For Sale: '84 Chevy CUCV M1010 4x4 Ambulance

Hi everyone, I have gone a different direction with rigs as I came to the realization that I didn't have the time to convert this into what I wanted. Here's the info, 1984 Chevy CUCV M1010 Ambulance, basically a K30 truck with a big box on the back. Detroit Diesel 6.2L "J" code engine with...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FS: Fluorescent lights from 2004 FWC Grandby

I did get the Kaper II that have been talked about. From what I have read, this is the option that FWC is using but that's unconfirmed. As for brightness, we haven't actually used the camper yet so I have no real reference of if the LED ones are worst/same/better. Since I don't have any...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FS: Fluorescent lights from 2004 FWC Grandby

Hi everyone, I just removed the original fluorescent light from my Grandby to put LED lights in. I figured someone might be able to upgrade their incandescent lights to these or if they wanted to add some more. I have 2 sets of these. Both work great but one is missing the diffuser cover...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Deaver Springs

Very nice! I just ordered a custom pack from National Spring Company (they're just down the street from me) and should have it installed in my "new" 2001 Tacoma in a couple of weeks. Since my camper essentially lives on my truck, I decided to have them build the pack specifically for my needs...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West LED interior lights vs incandescent and Fluorescent

Just wanted to add, after reading this thread, I ordered a set of the LED porch light bulbs and the interior LED light fixtures from Tweety's as mentioned above. Everything came in within a few days and tonight in less than an hour, I had all the lights swapped into the camper. Got the 200...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West DC fridge versus AC/DC fridge

Great info everyone. I'll add this info. Our trips are done where we are never in the same spot the next night. The only time we have ever spent more than one night in one spot was at Overland Expo in 2010. Since the next day is spent driving to our next location, the battery will be charged...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West DC fridge versus AC/DC fridge

So I am looking to change my Norcold 3 way fridge for a compressor style unit. I need something that will run on DC with low current use, unlike the Norcold. Been looking at Nova Cool and Engel models (and a few others) and they are offered in a DC only and AC/DC models. Seems to be about a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lagun Table Group Buy

This is xj_mike from ExPo (cummins_mike on WTW). Yeah, with the price increase, I am not thinking this is going to be something I can do right at this moment. Especially with all the suspension work I need to do, which will be $$$$. I think at this point I am out even though this is a very...

Thanks for the reply Stan. That clears up a lot. This weekend plans are to get the tie down eyes installed. Today I am getting new BFG A/T KO's in 285/75-16 size installed so the tires will be done. Hoping to get out in a couple weeks.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New to us, 2004 Grandby

I difinitely know there are no risers under the floor and as it is, there is no way to lower it as it only clears the bed rails by about an inch or less. The weird thing is, if you look the picture of simimike's rig, the side window and awning look to have the same spacing on the wall as mine...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New to us, 2004 Grandby

The space between the top of your truck cab and the cabover of the camper is more than normal. I would have to say almost without doubt the camper was originally built for a Ford SuperDuty (F250 or F350) that has a taller truck cab. We used to add 3" to the upper wall height. (Good eye...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New to us, 2004 Grandby

Wow, simimike, our rigs could be brothers. LOL Yeah, I was a little surprised by the clearance between the roof and camper. Seemed like a lot more than I was used to see but then I started going through pics here on WtW and I guess this era Ram's must of had a lower cab height in relation to...

Nice setup!! And you got the last year model of the 12 valve cummins that don't require a emissions test.. Score on both counts Thanks everyone. As for the truck, this is exactly why I was looking for this year/model. All the good without the bad.

Hi everyone. This is my first post here on WTW. I am very active on Expedition Portal (xj_mike) and have been using a 2000 Jeep Cherokee and Kamparoo Weekender trailer for the last few years. It has been a great setup and we have taking it over areas that non trailing rigs have had problems...
