RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Death Valley National Park - December 2017

I am fortunate to be married to a retired veterinarian (DVM & MPVM, U.C. Davis) and a horticulturist (B.S., Cal Poly SLO) who humors me when I ask her (usually on other peoples behalf) "what's the name of this or that plant?". If I'm asking for myself, I'm wondering how good that plant might...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Step side truck for an ATC Panther

OK, no photos. Bummer. A step side is a unique truck, I'd thought they would have done some photos of a previous build, just in case if they got asked to do another one. You haven't filled in your location in your profile. Are you close enough to go by the ATC shop and have them do some...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Step side truck for an ATC Panther

Do Marty & Jeff have any photos of their previous step side builds to email to you? Something that you could post in a message on the forum. I'd be interested in seeing those, if they have any.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Am I out of luck with 1,200 lbs of payload?

I have an ATC Bobcat shell that weighed in at at about 550 lbs before I started the interior build. I added several hundred pounds and I drive a Ford Ranger (much smaller than your rig). The 790 lbs. for a Panther shell sounds accurate. Talk to Marty or Jeff about doing the extra height on...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ventura County Fires

Just a bit of an update. Two photos from the TV of an unusual Sunday fire coverage on local station KEYT. The photos below look pretty nasty, however, that is in the back country in the Los Padres National Forest. Don't have any TV photos of the front side closer to Carpinteria or Montecito...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 110V system, have it or not, use it or not

When I purchased by ATC Bobcat shell in 2010 I asked Marty & Jeff to use screws on all interior wall panels instead of the normal staples at the bottom (and they did that for me). The reason I wanted to be able to completely remove the interior wall panels was I wanted to do the 12 VDC and 110...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West My roof is popping like an aluminum soda can

I thought someone, maybe Ted (?), a year or more ago, had this issue on a brand new FWC and it turned out to be the adhesive that was used to hold the one piece roof to the ribs. I thought I heard that a complete roof replacement at the factory with newer and better adhesive was the fix. Maybe...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Oven Range w/ 3 burners?

I'd say go for it. Back when I built my first interior the entire camper was all electric (12VDC from Solar/Battery for fridge, lights & fan, and 110VAC from Honda EU2000i for microwave, induction cook top, rice cooker, wall heater & toaster oven), I had no propane anywhere. We used the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Quieting compressor fridge

Looks like that unit has a 3 year warranty. Is your's still under warranty? Send it back, if it is. Even if it's not covered I'd at least call them talk to customer service and see what they can do for you.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Which Cheap Camper(s) are Good Options for a 1st Gen Tacoma (6' Bed)

I think I've heard that their dad or some other older family member started FWC in Colorado. Looks like they have a very different structural construction of the frame than the way FWC and ATC builds a frame.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Which Cheap Camper(s) are Good Options for a 1st Gen Tacoma (6' Bed)

Yes, exactly like a FWC. The floor pack is plywood in both ATC & FWC and above that is the aluminium frame. Jeff and Marty, owners of ATC used to work at FWC a long time ago.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Why did you choose ATC over FWC

Back in 2010 I ordered at the end of October and picked my ATC up in early December, 6 weeks I believe, with a fair amount of customization. At that time the late Fall and Winter was the low build season. Ordering in late Winter, anytime in Spring or Summer and the builds took longer. That was...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Installing roof, with or without lift panels?

It's been awhile (2010) since I was at All Terrain Campers, however, that process seems almost like what they do (I saw it happen twice, once on each of my two visits). Why not give Marty or Jeff a call and run this by them. They do this process several times a week.
