RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Paralysis by Analysis on Ram 3500 vs. F-350

Being a betting man, I am betting you could analyze and discuss this to death, but the best choice will still be buying the truck you most want. I doubt six months after you own the truck, you will remember what you were worried about. My F350 gasser suits me fine, but I have nothing bad to say...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Please help me decide on which GVW to order...

So here's where the rubber hits the road. There are multiple states where the law specifies a weight that would require virtually anything towing a travel trailer or fifth wheel as well as carrying a TC to stop at the weigh stations. I have towed or carried in virtually every state on the list...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Punching the roof for solar on an 04 Hallmark Ute

Thanks for the responses. What I was looking for was whether anyone had put meter to theory at the batteries and compared the current outputs, but I found it on Youtube. Now I am trying to decide if I should simply swap panels between our fiver and TC depending on which one we are using...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Doesn't anyone use their slide-in in the Southeastern U.S.

Been in the Smokies, but not really boondocking, just in campground. Hoping for more adventure.

Didn't find it, although one thread had series i the title, it never explored the topic. I will search further, thanks. Steve

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Punching the roof for solar on an 04 Hallmark Ute

I understand the impact of size and resistance on amperage. How about more on series versus parallel. I have always done parallel, but I know some folks do series. I understand the difference more voltage makes from series, but how about the real world effect on amperage at the batteries? Does...

That's kind of where we are too. I am thinking there might be spots, but just so few slide-in campers it just doesn't garner much attention. Once we got past Denver they were everywhere. Right around us they are a rarity!

We spent last summer in our Hallmark out West and it was a lot of fun, but good Lord, the drive just to get there is a killer. We live in N.E. Tennessee. Surely there must be some nice spots to use our camper where we don't have to drive 2,000+ miles to get to. Anyone in our neck of the woods...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Punching the roof for solar on an 04 Hallmark Ute

Thanks, I can check, but I have been up on the roof. Nothing there but the AC unit and roof vent. If they prewired it is covered with the roof. Steve

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Punching the roof for solar on an 04 Hallmark Ute

I have installed multiple solar systems over the years on RVs, but now have a Hallmark and want to do the same. Has anyone here installed solar yourself on a Hallmark. Doing it on a pop-top is a novelty for me and don't want to reinvent the wheel. If you punched your roof to run your cable...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Renogy solar

Yes. that is a parallel connection. I have been using solar for about 15 years on my towables and motor homes and am about to install a system in my Hallmark UTE. I think once you get use to your system and know what to expect it is fairly easy to tell when it changes from its usual behavior.
