RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West WTB Rear Awning, older style, with Keder strip, zip on attachment

I'd like to find a rear awning like the one in the attached photograph, from another FWC owner. My 2015 FWC Raven has the channel on the top, ready to receive the "keder" style zipper that fits into this channel and then provides the zipper which matches the awning part. FWC is apparently no...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Low Cost Mods

So, are the plywood panels just supported on the sides? Wood strips bolted to the existing cabinetry? Any other support under the center portion?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Eagle Shell questions

Nice build out on your shell! How did you attach those shelf brackets (with the holes) to the side of the camper? I've thought about something similar but worry about what I'd be drilling into.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Low Cost Mods

Here is another cheap way to handle curtains & add some "hangers." An expandable curtain rod, from Home Depot, stretches the length of the camper, N-S, and provides a place for those small 'biners, clips, bungees, velcro, so you can hang things off the rod. No screw holes, easy to remove. A 24"...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Low Cost Mods

'Bout as low cost as you can get, using Home Depot crates and an old box my grandfather made, about 60 years ago. They just happened to be the right height for stacking, when adding a piece of 3/4" plywood to span the distance between the two side cabinets, making for a full width platform for...

Latest mod to my Raven shell. Now, where's my cooler?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hawk shell build out

I am a bit more Jed Clampett than you all. Mostly because my garage is full of crap and I can't get to my tools. I found that the two Home Depot crates that I had along with box that my carpenter grandfather built decades ago is the perfect height to support a three-quarter inch piece of...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bought used Raven. Best place to get tie downs installed?

Hey @Horseshoe, you say you did the installation yourself. Did you buy the hardware from Rocky Mtn. FWC? Do you know the specs for the forged eyebolts recommended by FWC? Did you have any trouble locating where to drill? I've got a Ford F-150 short box so there's not a lot of room to play...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Push me over, or steer me away, from the edge - Hawk Flatbed

Can't answer these as I am a new FWC Raven shell owner, small by the flatbed standards. Color me green with envy. Those flatbeds are nice, especially that dinette. But as for popping up the roof, it takes no time at all, just some oomph. If you have the gas struts, I've read they help quite a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bought used Raven. Best place to get tie downs installed?

3 weeks to get into the FWC dealer in Arvada. Guess I'll use my Jed Clampett ratchet straps till then. Thanks for the replies.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bought used Raven. Best place to get tie downs installed?

I know I can do this myself, with the proper tools and a body young enough to crawl under the Ford F-150 short box. But what I have is the F-150 and a '15 Raven and would like to find someone who does this sort of thing regularly enough to do it right. RV Service place? 4x4 Truck Custom shop...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Raven Shell, wiring in some power questions

Thanks, @Squatch. I just got this thing home and still need to install proper eyebolts for tie downs and get the wiring from the truck to the camper completed as well. Once I get that done, on to some battery power and maybe I will have heard from FWC by then.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Raven Shell, wiring in some power questions

Noob in all respects, just bought a used FWC Raven, 2015 shell model. I think the only option that the original owner had installed were the jack stands. The camper has some wires stubbed out for a yet-to-be installed plug to connect it to the truck and these wires run into the interior where...
