RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC solar connector

I am installing my solar panel today, 2015 Hawk, there is an automotive style connector on the roof, does anybody know which pin is positive and negative? The connector I bought from the auto parts store has a red and white wire, I’m assuming red is positive and white is negative?!? The problem...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 46 gallon Tundra tank

I canceled my order for the 46 gallon tank, it’s just to much extra weight, wife and I decided we needed to stop every 3-4 hours anyway, I can always install the 46 gallon tank later, I’m also worried about the issue with how the straps mount to the frame and lack of a proper skid plate for...

I also agree with you on the rigid panels versus flexible panels, but I’m so overweight now that I don’t wanna add any more unnecessary weight, so I’m going to try the flexible panel to see how long it lasts, I just talked to a guy today who had his flexible solar panels on his roof for over two...

dual batteries, We normally don’t Boondock for more than three or four days, I can almost get four days now out of two batteries fully charged without solar, so I’m relatively sure 100 W of solar will extend my time dry camping to 5 to 7 days or so, which is more than enough

I decided to mount it so that it faces the open area of the camper, like you said so it can be seen, which would be useful at times I’m sure, I bought the number one rated flexible solar panel on Amazon, along with the controller that was recommended, both had very good reviews

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What Brand is the 160 watt Solar Panel FWC Provides?

my understanding is that if you don’t use the furnace a lot, 100 W should be more than enough to run the compressor fridge and never run out of battery, if not, like I said, I can add another hundred watt solar panel

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What Brand is the 160 watt Solar Panel FWC Provides?

I am installing a 100 W panel on Saturday, I was told 100 W was enough to keep up with the compressor fridge (80 liter), if not I’ll add a second panel

that’s exactly what I was thinking, however there is no Bluetooth connection, I can’t imagine needing to see the display on the controller very often, and all those lights will disturb us when we’re trying to sleep at night

I guess the controller can be mounted above the batteries inside the battery box, totally out-of-the-way, why not?

I have a 2015 Hawk model, I want to connect solar to the roof, it is prewired as we all know, there are two wires near the battery coiled up, with butt connectors ready to have wires connect to it, I assume those two wires are connected both to the roof connector, and the rear by the door...

I wouldn’t be concerned, but I would be proactive, definitely get the best tires money can buy, E rated 10 ply, airbags are a must, and adding 2 leaf springs is also a must, and lastly is the sway bar, you can’t do without any of these items

OK, airbags separated, HUGE DIFFERENCE, should have been separate from day one, big mistake on my part, It’s not 100% better, but I would say it’s at least 50% better, the last thing I can do is put BillSteen shocks in, other than that I’ll just have to live with it the way it is, at least I...
