I'm not sure how well the waxing works yet. Applying the wax caused a significant improvement in water repellence - just testing it by dropping a little bit of water from my hand onto the jacket. But you'd have to ask me again in a year to see how well it really works. As for washing, I have no...

I wasn't too big on Bagby. Mainly because it's in these wooden bathtubs in a partly or mostly enclosed wooden buildings. It just didn't feel all that special. I think I might enjoy hot springs with a natural pool more than Bagby. A note: you're supposed to pay $5 to use the spring/tubs. When you...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West HWY 1 Monterey to Ventura

I'm in Santa Cruz right now and will be going south towards Ventura over the next month or however long. I've done some research and it looks like there are a TON of nice places between Monterey and San Luis Obispo. The hard part for me out here is finding places to park for the night. I don't...

to add... since Portland, I've driven south through Oregon and Northern California quickly. I stopped in Bagby Hot Springs, Bend, and Crater Lake. I start out along the California coast at Crescent city and made it past San Francisco a couple days ago. I've gotten to warmer weather, so I plan to...

Thank you :-D I use a Nikon D90 (which is about ten years old now), with mostly a Nikon 10.5mm fisheye lens. I use Photoshop for processing, but the changes I make in there are really simple and can be done on lots of other less complex programs. I've started thinking about buying a newer...

HIKING We went for a hike in Oswald West State Park - on the Falcon Cove trail. It was a pretty nice trail with very nice views at the end. Then we went to the beach! There’s a really nice beach in Oswald

I'm down in Portland now for the next few weeks. I did hang out in Fremont a bit and went to Discovery park (and quite a few other parks - Volunteer park, Lincoln Park, Madison beach, seward park, and some more) I didn't know of or go to the sound garden though.

Nope, I just use the pens for writing. Thank you :-) Yes, thank you. I've been thinking and talking more and more about going into Mexico. I still think I'm going to wait until next winter which will give me more time to learn Spanish.

Next up: Seattle. I'll be there for two weeks to visit an old friend and his wife and bum around the city. Those two weeks have actually came and went and I've left Seattle. I'll get around to that post pretty soon. I'll be heading down to Portland this week.

Yeah if I got that Tokina 11-16, I would probably sell off both my Fisheye and 24mm (both Nikons) and probably come out about even on money.

Thank you. I upload them to Flickr and embed them in my post with forum coding. Since I'm not uploading to the forum server, there isn't any size limit. The really wide shots are done with a Nikon 10.5mm Fisheye lense (so, a super super wide lens). I often crop a bit off of them. I've been...

(I wasn't at that address, it's just where I happened to click in Spokane while making the map.) I should probably start posting where I plan to be, rather than only posting after I've left places or when I'm about to leave, so I can meet up with people when they offer. But now I'm long gone...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hot Spring Tour-Central Nevada

Awesome report and those are some really cool hot springs! Is there any danger of the springs or the ground being too hot? I've been in Yellowstone and there are all kinds of warnings about how the water can be near boiling, and how there can be really hot mud underneath thin crusts of dirt.
