RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West secret compartment ideas

I'd say maybe a fake bottom on one of the storage areas? I have side dinette and the storage under seat is pretty deep. Not real convenient but that would be an easy solution.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Propane Usage

Flinchlock, I'd be VERY interested in how accurate you thing that is? I REALLY hate always wondering if I should refill before I go out each trip. I really like keeping my second tank for propane it and Partner stove. Not a big deal if it runs out. But as already mentioned I like heat and coffee...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Hawk Sink Drain Corrosion

I know... reviving the dead but... Did a search and this was the best post I found... my drain is fine but what is the product to clean the stainless sink? I have some stains/blemishes I'd like to try and remove. Don't want to damage the sinks surface. Currently I just use dish soap. Mine is...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Flat Towing HELP?

Followup... I really like Flat Towing over on my car hauler. As mentioned easy to install and unhook. I had to add a riser since my Jeep tow-point is the aftermarket bumper. As mentioned I have the brake controlled cable setup. In all honesty I do not know if even working. My super duty with FWC...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Flat Towing HELP?

OK, I have an off-road jeep I like to take to off road parks and camp there for the weekend. I'd like to Flat Tow behind my Superduty/Hawk. So I can use Hawk instead of tent camp. Bought a ReadyBrut two bar with brakes. Finally got everything setup properly. Issue is when I turn either left or...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hawk FWC trailer hitch carrier

Those are TorkLift GLOW steps. I love them much more secure for these old joints ;) They JUST came out with a new mounting system so you can leave on all the time I have ordered. I currently store mine mine while traveling. Good stuff... not inexpensive compared to others.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hawk FWC trailer hitch carrier

RamHawk you can do a search and there is a lot of input. Many of us use cargo carriers. I personally use one with a RakAttach.com swingaway hitch. You can google. That said it does reduce your departure angle a lot.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rear awning For sale ?

David, just an FYI... I bought a rear awning from a Hawk owner on here. He did not want to sell me the mounting hardware. I do not blame him I would not want the empty mounting holes either. It took me awhile to find the correct Marine hardware. FWC did not have anymore in stock. So if you find...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Options For Outside Thermometer?

OK, I know maybe better place to ask but... I'm from TX and it very seldom gets below freezing. However we travel a lot and in mountains often. I have a Kestral for checking temps outside when I'm physically outside. If in cell service I can check what outside temps are with cell but... when we...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Couldn't handle it any longer....

ETAV8R, I'm interested in knowing if you or anyone puts their Thermarest or such under their camper mattress? Seems like that would help. Not sure if have to remove before closing my Hawk on the bed?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How do you keep your batteries charged when......

I just keep mine plugged into the shore power in Shop. My camper remains on truck. I make sure all appliances are off. No issues to date. I have room to keep top up and air out while stored too.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fan-tastic Vent Upgrade

Probably not the best place to ask but here I go ;) Some owners mention closing back door and using the Fantastic Fan to pull in the sides in Is this better than door open and the bungee cords when lowering the top? I don't seem to have an issue with the sides coming in but not for sure. I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Handguns traveling in CA stored in FWC?

Ordered a lockbox yesterday. My mantra has always been to follow the law. Can't remember the last time I was pulled over I think I was still a kid and I'm 65. So I'll take my chances and before I cross the CA border lock it up in the box and the camper. As CHL holder I would tell him I am and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Handguns traveling in CA stored in FWC?

I know there is probably a better area to ask this but it's an FWC question for me. ADMINS please delete or move if appropriate. I an in TX and have a concealed handgun license. I travel and most of our bordering states have a reciprocal so not a big issue. However, I am heading to CA for a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ordering a Hawk 1-28-17 Do's Don'ts?

Just my .02 but I have a 2015 Hawk side dinette. I like the location and room at sink and stove. We like the bed access too as we don't slide bed out. However I absolutely HATE the 90 degree fold over seat. It is very uncomfortable when my wife is in the other. I wish there was a way to angle it...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ordering a Hawk 1-28-17 Do's Don'ts?

Concur with most all posts. I would definitely get the thermal barrier for reasons stated. I'm in TX and it seems to help with cooling too. I also like my sliding window by the cab. I had a screen made at local glass shop. It really helps with air flow when I open and turn on fantastic fan. When...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Can't Get AC Power

I had same issue recently. My setup normally was to use the standard 110VAC plug from my 30amp connector on the FWC. This particular location did not like their GFI outlet matching to mine. A neighbor camper said that is often the case. Luckily he had an adapter the went from the standa plug...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West CB's and truck campers?

I have a Cobra 75 All in One) that I move between my Jeep and my truck camper. I have an FWC so it has Jackstand mounts. I just mounted a standard CB antenna mount to mount on the front driver side. I just run the cable out my back cab window. Easy to just move the radio back and forth just...
