RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Installed Awnings

OK, bit off topic but have issue and no sense starting new thread. Looks like I (wife) did not tighten the thumbscrew on one of the Fiamma legs. When I went to use it last week it was missing must have fallen out. Used a clamp to hold :) Now that I'm home I found a "MacGuyverized" replacement...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Best camper steps for dogs

Thanks Brian and others for suggestions. I would like a ramp but just more to carry and all the chocolate in the world would not get my wife to use ;) I think I will bite the bullet and get the Safety Steps. If anyone wants to give theirs up I'm your man to buy them ;) :)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC owners in Texas

I am not sure how many owners we have in TX? That said if you would guide me and there is interest I'd start a rally gathering here. Heck even a "Get Together" could be fun!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Best camper steps for dogs

I just returned from my first solo trip with my dog in the Hawk. He is able to climb /jump in camper with no steps. However, I have Glowsteps... the 4 step version which we use and love. He will not climb the steps and tries to enter from the side. Getting out he just jumps out. My question...

CougarCouple, Yes that is a CB antenna... mounted to the jackstand post. The trip I was on we had both CB and Ham users. I have a Cobra 75 all in one CB. Just run the antenna coax out the back sliding window but could go through cabin. I guess if I wanted I could use it in camper if I needed to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Better water tank level sensor/gauge?

SUBSCRIBING! As I asked over on Expo... what sending unit does FWC actually use and will an aftermarket actually be way more accurate? I use a flow meter on the hose to fill my tank as I don't always fill to 20 gal and the inside little LEDs seem pretty accurate. All the other suggestions are...

WELCOME! Not sure about the Raven but on my Hawk, if I crack open a top vent and the sliding front window it get descent airflow. Are you thinking of someone or a dog maybe traveling in there or just temps for the frige? I am in TX and all is well with mine but dog travels in cab.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Antenna mounted to Jack mounts?

Cool and thanks for the replies!!! I will mount a firestick there for this trip. I'll just run coax out back sliding window. I did not use the mag mount on my Jeep just the ruck when towing Jeep with buds in caravan. Works well but sitting on top I think could be an issue when off the beaten...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Antenna mounted to Jack mounts?

OK, I know I should go with Ham Radio and I am but... I have a couple questions for those experienced. I am going on a 10 day trip with some others. They will have Ham and CB radios. I am buying a handheld Ham so I can listen in on the Ham users. Won't be able to test for my license until after...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Trasharoo

I use a tie-down loop bolted on the driver side rear jack mount and the Roof step to the right of it. I remove jacks when not stored. Tighten the straps and it stays put. It makes a bit harder to access propane storage but not a big deal. To keep the door swung open I just bungee it. I'm...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Sheets used on FWC campers?

I hate to HiJack the post but I bet someone has a quick answer. For those of you you that do slide out for extra size... how do you get in and out of the bed? Wife and I are Old Farts but still get around ;) With a side dinette I just don't see an easy way. Wife is only 5' 4" and has a tough...

OK I had already removed the screw and plastic retainer that keeps it from sliding out on rough road. I tried (gingerly) to slide to center and pull out. I "possibly" could force it out. But seems to tight a fit to pull. I would rather leave as is :( not sure I'd get it back in anyway. The...

OK, I thought I saw a post / mod about screens on the back of the various hatch covers but searched and can't find :( Has anyone done it and what did you use to fasten the screen... RTV adhesive? I just returned from East Coast and was checking / cleaning camper. A lot of little leaves and even...
