RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West USB Charger vs Inverter

Ditto what Stalking Light just said. I merely replace one of the power sockets in my Hawk with a BlueSea USB socket. I can turn it on when charging and off when not.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Broken turnbuckle attachment

WOW this is for those of you that may be like me... a "procrastinator". I recently returned from a 3 week trip of many different terrain types. I did not check my turnbuckles while on trip. Luckily I don't drive the truck/hawk while at home. Getting ready for another trip and figured I'd check...

Hmmm, I'm in TX with a 2015 Hawk silver spur exterior picked up in October for a Superduty. I am REALLY thinking about a flatbed model... Don't get me wrong I love the Hawk but could be persuaded ... maybe.

BillBeal, I'm just putting this out there if you may want a day trip. Another member from Houston just received his Flat Bed mounted Hawk. My wife and I are interested in a Flatbed. So we are meeting him at Ft. Boggy St Park in Centerville next Sunday. Just going to meet in the day use area and...

The camp kitchens are nice but I would guess there are less expensive alternatives ...like the tackle box idea?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Low Cost Mods

Did a search and only heard mention... not solution. For those of you familiar with TrashaRoo has anyone developed a mounting solution? I currently just hang on back climb step when camped. I would like a solution to leave attached when on road too.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Touring Kayakers and Canoeists?

Any Lil Abner fans out there? In North West Arkansas is the Buffalo River that has a National Park on it. The river is the cleanest River I've paddled in a LONG time. If ever in the area you need to paddle at least a few miles. Plenty of outfitters if you want to rent and they will ferry you to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Easy mods

Yes, I used the front screws and washers that were there. Not real hard to match up and drill holes in the aluminum. The other side had no screws so just drilled and added, I think, 5 screws to hold in place.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West San Antonio area Hawk/Raven owners

RNShark, I have a 2015 Hawk mounted on my 2009 Superduty. Both my children and their families live in San Antonio. Both have full houses so we take the Camper occasionally and stay at the KOA. The kids like the pool and we can relax. I will shout the next time we are that way. If you travel I35...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How hot is it?

Hot here in TX too... my truck said 106 but my Kestrel only said 102 ;) Ditto what BrianG said about the screws. I had same issue a couple weeks ago. I don't have a dealer any longer here in TX so I called FWC. They stated it was an issue and to just add 3 more screws and washers. He suggested...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Backing and loading truck camper

I put a piece of blue painters tape on the bottom rear edge of camper dead center. I then put a piece on the back edge of my truck bed. That way when backing up my wife can guide me so I am as centered as possible. Than as already mentioned I take my time backing completely in, lowering jacks...

My Hawk has, from factory, an aluminum corner piece where I store Porta Potty made to protect from bangs and dings. However the corner under my Refrigerator did not. My last trip, at some point, either my cooler or storage box must have dinged the corner. To protect it on future trips (this...

Thanks Longhorn but you are under the impression that my wife sews ;) :). I know she has friends that do so I will have her ask. Maybe something like bungee cord instead of rope? I need to go out and see what I maybe able to fasten to. Any idea if RV places may sell already made curtains?

Not showing but asking :) My wife and I want to take our 5yr old granddaughter on a long weekend trip with us to the beach. We have a Hawk with a porta potty. My wife and granddaughter will sleep on the bed and I will use the rollover side dinette bed. My question is... has anybody rigged up...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Photo of FWC door awning ?

I checked with FWC and they have, in fact, discontinued the Rear door awning. That said if any of you that are dissatisfied with yours I'd like to purchase one Not even sure what they went for... but I'm willing to make an honest offer... if you don't use it.
