RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Newbie electrical question

I use the 15 amp connection and it powers everything I need including my AC unit. Some campsites I still have an issue with the ground protect always tripping I need to delve into that more :( I really think I may need a new extension cord although mine looks new?

Not sure about your Denali but my Superduty is pretty easy to drain the water catch bulb... sure would not take to a dealer :(

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Warn Hidden winch bumper.

Thanks to seeing it on LeadSled9's truck I installed one on mine. I'm headed out Saturday for a 3 week expo with just Wife and I no other vehicles. I like having the winch if / when I may need it. I really like the bumper...solid and bolt-on for the most part ;) If you don't need the off road...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Off the grid campsites?

On another forum a camper had his RTT stolen while out climbing... got me to thinking :) I'm headed out for a couple weeks most in areas I have never been as yet. If I stage my FWC in a remote area and then hike or venture off... Is it safer to close it so no access to the vinyl popup? Just...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Medano Pass

OK and SORRY but another question for those of you experienced with Yellowstone or just bear country. I see on the map I have that some campsites are labeled HARDSIDE CAMPERS ONLY. May I assume that our FWC's may fit this bill? I don't really plan on these areas to camp but may not have a choice.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bombsight Build Thread

If I remember correctly mine has a receiver type box just screwed onto the bed. The box has the cable from the front routed through a factory hole with boot. That said it may just come up over the bed rail between bed and cab??? The power from the camper is just a factory cable and plugs into...

Not sure of dates but if / when you come to TX if you are on I35 by Waco give a shout...If you need anything coming through I can help. Always welcome fellow travelers to stop and crash or just kick back for a bit. Lengthy trip can cause minor needed repairs to vehicle and body ;) .

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Buying used camper jacks

I hope he has them... is the Hawk in his truck? I take mine off when in truck and I would assume most do. I would contact FWC but I also can't imagine they would build one without the mounts? That said I am sure you can buy replacements.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Medano Pass

Hey fellow campers I have a question about Medano Pass. My wife and I are leaving on a trip in a few weeks and I want her to see Great Sand Dunes Natl Park. I have been before but in a pretty capable 4X4. My question is, as I don't remember, will my Superduty with FWC be able to make the pass...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West off roading on steep inclines?

Yes, ditto what Kodachrome says as it makes perfect sense. ESPECIALLY the reluctance of using a spotter. I'm pretty experienced offroad and always feel safer with a spotter (that I trust) ;)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West off roading on steep inclines?

^ I agree I'd be more worried about losing traction and sliding sideways. DITTO on the 4x4 training that and experience will help a lot to make you more comfortable.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Towing a vehicle - opinions

Agree with most all comments. I have trailered and flat towed. I currently flat tow my Cherokee. Have a readybrute towbar with readybrake that brakes Jeep on deceleration. Nice to just pull up where ever, unhook and be done. The trailer always seemed to be an issue. NOTE if you flat tow have...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West how to build a dolly

Sorry but have a question about the Harbor Freight trailer. I only see a 1,090 lb trailer is that stout enough or is there another? http://www.harborfreight.com/1090-lb-capacity-40-12-in-x-48-in-utility-trailer-62665.html

I know it sounds stupid but my wife and I are not smokers. Had one of those bic fire starters first trip off grid. RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fleet Flatbed: Bike Rack Help?!

Not in expensive but I like my hitch rack mounted to my rakattach. This video is not me but you get the idea... looks like it would be out enough for your curve? I also sometime use a hitch rack basket for extra gear or firewood.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Latch tightness

When I purchased mine. I was told to fasten latch on catch and adjust pull until it is 90 degrees when first starts feeling pull. Then you can pull rest of way to fasten tight. Maybe hard to envision but seems to work for me.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West No grey water system

THOUGHTS??? I have done Bob's PVC mod for grey water :) but I still carry collapsible 5 gal just in case ;) I am wondering the etiquette on using "Grey Water" for dousing the fire? We cook and wash most stuff outside... sometimes use hot water from shower. The inside grey water is usually just...
