RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar - informal survey of brands and customer satisfaction

Oh. I just realized this is just a frame. Totally missed that. Great way to cut down on weight. I guess if the velcro adhesive fails, really good zip ties should be able to handle the load for a significant time. Your not worried about the force of the wind? I feel like you have to be a physics...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 1st gen Tundra questions?

Ill add to the list of happy first gen Tundra owners. Sold my Dodge Cummins and bought my tuck cash with 165k miles on it. Like one other poster said, check the brakes as these were a weak link and upgraded in 2004. If the brakes need changing upgrade to the 2004 or up model year. The hardest...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar - informal survey of brands and customer satisfaction

Thats not too bad. What gauge aluminum is that and how much? Are you still attaching it to the aluminum with adhesive? If it goes bad will you just lose out on the aluminum or glue another on top? The other thing I'm wondering is if the aluminum will still transfer just as much heat as the roof...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar - informal survey of brands and customer satisfaction

We just had our first failures within the last month. The first person to return them was told by Renogy that their failure rate is less than 5%. In addition, there are many members here, including myself, who have used them for over a year with no issues. I think most of us realize that forums...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Electrical confusion...

Interesting how Renogy said less than 5% failure rate and are now saying higher than expected failure rate. Man am I scared to take Renogy panels to the middle of no where in Baja. I think I may buy a foldable to supplement my Renogy for my next trip.

I can't believe your other panel failed. Glad to know you are diagnosing on your own though. As for me I have one 100w renogy panel I use remotely. Was planning on gluing it to the roof but now I'm scared. Think I may do dual lock now.

Just to make sure we are on the same page this is the latch I am talking about: https://goo.gl/photos/bVaHh5qrovJsXSrFA These are the rivets that started coming off for me. I think I lost 2 so far: https://goo.gl/photos/2Y67pbg6psrPRXMV7 and https://goo.gl/photos/M6JyiTY27ttsazuX8

That's the one I didn't know about latching. I started breaking rivets from not using it.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Electrical confusion...

So DonC let me borrow the old failed panels so I could do some destructive testing. Here are some pictures of what the panel looks like. Here is the top popped off: https://goo.gl/photos/qzJpSh21D5ccjFqG8 The wires are soldered inside her to a prong that sticks up from the laminated panel...

This is my favorite thread ever. Now I know I'm not the only one who has done this. I haven't driven with it popped but I did forget to latch and drove a ways on a dirt road. Something even funnier I did was own my camper for a year before I realized I was supposed to use the little slide latch...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Noob Questions: FWC Fleet Bed Sizing, FWC Solar/Power setup and costs, hot water external shower?

The two batteries they offer are 75 ah. That means you will have a total of 150 ah with 75 usable ah. Not sure what they cost. The camper battery system consists of the wiring, a battery separator and battery if I recall correctly. Two 6v golf cart batteries will get 190 ah or you can do two...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Noob Questions: FWC Fleet Bed Sizing, FWC Solar/Power setup and costs, hot water external shower?

First, the sizing of the bed. Living in the rig full-time I'm not incredibly excited about setting up the bed each night and remaking my sheets/blankets/etc. What are the dimensions of the Fleet bed without it pulled out? How do people set up their bed setups quickly when they are in a location...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Refrigerators revisited

Apparently another argument for getting a compressor refrigerator is that absorption refrigerators can make some people crazy. Maybe the CO alarm is not working and there is a propane leak.

I guess a small amount of storage is the nature of this type of the camper. Other than that you don't have anything breaking etc? Is everything working as expected? Good quality? Etc?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ultimate Flexible Solar Panels - successes and warranty replacements

They told DonC that they did make a change. I think they said it was to the plastic part that sticks up. DonC is also trying to get his panels off the roof and said he will allow me to do some destructive testing.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Refrigerators revisited

Apparently this has now turned personal. I hope the OP can sift through this and see that either setup can work within the right constraints. As the last poster said don't let the price of these options stop you from getting into the wilderness. Regardless of the opinion of the last poster, I...
