RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another Turnbuckle Fiasco Averted ....FWC facebook page

I saw that, too. I had never heard or seen this issue. The hooked end of the aluminum TBs bent and opened enough to slip off. See pix. Has anyone experience such a failure? The discussion also talked about using 2-ton canvass ratchets instead. Any opinions here? It might be easier to reach in...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Awning Recommendations

We have the ARB side awning on a Fleet. We camped over 3 months last year through the West and Northwest and I was surprised we deployed the awning maybe only 10 times total. If it was too sunny we often just move our chairs to the other side of the camper. The tall camper casts a long shadow...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Battery care

I have AGM with Iota/IQ4. My rig is parked in a carport where I also have an AC circuit for operating an external flood light as well as shop outlets. I turn that circuit (and the light) off when I go to bed and back on in the morning. The rig is plugged into that circuit, thus the battery is...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC gas strut info

If you ever have difficulty lowering the roof with 40 pounders, just close the door and windows, turn the fan on high exhaust, and the suction will practically lower the roof for you.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC gas strut info

That's my post re the Canadian (Gemini) struts. I've seen the 40" figure thrown out more as a category (distinguished from the 30 inchers) rather than an exact measurement. The 1/4 inch "extra" is not a problem. They will fit.

Also turn the fan on, high, and blowing in. That helps a bit, like inflating a balloon.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West roof lifting helper shocks thingys

I just replaced all four 30 pounders with 40 pounders on my 2016 Fleet. I have a solar panel as well as a small storage box on top. It makes up and down much easier. I got them from Gemini in Canada, $25 ea. What I am not seeing much of in this discussion, however, is the technique of closing...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Arctic liner

I have the thermal pack on my 2016 Fleet (it came as a part of a shell package) and have appreciated it in colder weather. It somewhat makes sense to reap its benefits in the hot weather as any insulation is meant to reduce heat transfer. Theory aside though, I really wonder if it makes that...
