RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West SOLD - 2007 Nissan Frontier + 2008 Eagle camper

Hi there, Here's some more photos though they're a couple of years old: http://sightly.net/peter/nissan/photos/ They don't show the new tires (Duratrac LT235/85R16E1 120Q B - E-rated 10-ply sidewalls which is better with the weight of the camper, BTW it also has supersprings installed in the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West SOLD - 2007 Nissan Frontier + 2008 Eagle camper

For sale as a package are a 2007 Nissan Frontier 4x4 manual CrewCab longbed and a 2008 Four Wheel Camper, Eagle model. Both are super clean and very well kept for their age, as they haven't been used heavily and I am very particular about taking care of cars/items :) We have two babies and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Refrigerators revisited

I had a 3-way (propane) fridge in my camper for the first 3-4 years and it worked ok, about 95% of the time. But roughly 5% of the time (eg. when parked not level for the day while out and about, or who knows why) that it didn't work, it frustrated the hell out of me and spoiled a bunch of food...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Eagle camper with kids?

Thanks, will investigate... Are car seats really an issue, even in a crew cab (4-door) truck? After all it can seat 4 adults very comfortably...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Eagle camper with kids?

My wife and I really love our camper (Eagle on a crew cab Nissan Frontier, with long bed) *a lot*. We have twins on the way later this year and we're a bit anxious about whether there'll be enough space for us all. :) I'm looking for some advice and to hopefully hear from people who've done it...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 3-way fridge issues

I installed a Waeco CR-65 and it was a perfect fit in the same hole as my 2008 Eagle had for a propane fridge (which was a total POS from day one). http://www.gotruckstop.com/acart/products/Waeco_CR-65_23_cu_ft_Refrigerator.html I used it for a 3-week trip in August and even sat parked for 5...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West cabinet latches & external water tap replacement/fix

I ended up ordering this valve: http://www.ebay.com/itm/170280002494?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 Because I wanted something to direct the water down for easily filling water bottles etc. Hope I ordered the right thing, I guess the 1/8" NPT thread is the important part...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West cabinet latches & external water tap replacement/fix

Aaaand replying to myself, but after reading a bunch of reviews on RV forums, these seem well regarded, so I just ordered from amazon for $5: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006I0NSK/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West cabinet latches & external water tap replacement/fix

I found out someone makes aluminum flanges that do not break/fail as easily as the plastic ones, which apparently deteriorate in the sun and heat. Just ordered one of these together with a brass 1/8" thread valve (which has to be bought separately), in the interest of never having to do this...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West cabinet latches & external water tap replacement/fix

Just did a 3-week road trip, the camper was amazing! A couple of things I need to fix soon, and wanted people's feedback on: 1) The main cabinet door (under the sink) latch stopped working altogether. Pressing it in, it pops back out within a few seconds, especially when warm out. Is there a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 3-way fridge issues

I appreciate your 2 cents nevertheless. I would much prefer a compressor fridge, the one in my Subaru has worked much better for the past 2 years - turn it on, and it keeps a consistent temperature like the fridge at home. The propane was a pain from day 1 - in the fall/winter it would freeze...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 3-way fridge issues

I drove up a rough and rocky logging road last weekend in 4-low, so I doubt air bubbles would have stayed in 1 spot... :-) Sadly that didn't help. Will try the tapping method, as well, and potentially the upside down... thanks for all of the ideas, everyone - appreciate it.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 3-way fridge issues

I did not smell ammonia, but the truck was parked for ~14 days, and when I started the fridge on propane, it wasn't working after sitting (before that, I used it successfully). If there was a leak, it happened during that time. Any tips for removing the fridge - how easy is it to do so? It's...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 3-way fridge issues

My Norcold 3-way fridge stopped working last weekend, I'm really bummed. Neither electric mode (with the truck running/driving for 5+ hours), nor propane (lights up great, gives strong blue flame, for 2 days, not cold at all inside! and yes, I was parked perfectly flat..) From reading previous...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper OK on older trucks?

JHanson, nice photo! How hard was it to lift the roof with those two kayaks? I carried ~100 lbs on my roof on a trip this winter (skis/ski box), it was surprising how much of a difference it made, and I was a bit afraid of the mechanism holding up... though maybe I'm worrying too much, I've...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper OK on older trucks?

BTW also might be worth looking at Nissans, they tend to be cheaper used and have similar reliability. I was a big Toyota fan (had a LandCruiser for 8 years) but also had a buddy that had a Nissan truck that ran for over 200,000 miles until he sold it (still ran great)... honestly they are...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Gray water pipe on Raven

So far I just let mine drain down the side of the truck but I am always in the woods or the desert somewhere and it's just water... (when we use soap, it's biodegradable campsuds) :) For those other cases, this looks fantastic!! I guess the "input" hose is still outside the camper/coming down...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Diagnosing propane leak (in fridge?)

I don't think it's the orifices/burner being unhealthy, the fridge is pretty new (I think it was replaced under warranty a year or two ago) and the flame looks really solid/blue (unlike in those photos where the deposits cause it to deform, etc.) Maybe it is just the "exhaust"/smell of burnt...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Diagnosing propane leak (in fridge?)

I searched the forum for past discussions but didn't find much. When I have the fridge on propane there seem to be a fairly strong propane smell outside of the camper (maybe slightly inside too, but the propane detector does not go off). Normally I never have the fridge on at night but the...

I just finished installing my aftermarket backup camera last week, works great so far.
