RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC not permitted at Washington State Park Tent sites

We reserved site #282 (online) at Twin Harbors State Park to go surfing in Westport for the weekend. Our site was horrible with ultra bad smoke and overcrowding to the max. We went to front desk for site change / refund. Front desk informed us that vans and campers and FWC's were not allowed...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Reducing weight

take the back rest off, if you don't sleep down there... 40lbs I bet. We had it out, I put it back in, but gonna take it back out I think. Not very comfy and blocks the window. I do prefer to sleep down there sometimes but oh well. Stop eating doughnuts, switch from IPA's to Mexican Lagers to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Best camper steps for dogs

Charlie and Hailey do fine when we have the tow hitch cargo rack installed. It steps up half the distance. If we level the truck to camp and the rack is too tall we place the folding ladder or the excess leveling blocks as a step to the cargo rack.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Sharing the FWC and bedliner on a working truck

What reason does FWC give that makes them "specific about removing the bedliner"? We bought our rig complete and the bedliner is in between the FWC and the Tacoma. I have noticed that the center of gravity sticker sits about 1" aft of the center of the tire. Maybe the bedliner (wrongly) uses...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Toyota Tacoma or Tundra for Smaller FWC?

Get a Tacoma best vehicle ever made. Get some Bilstein 5100's, add air helper springs to the rear, and get some thicker sidewalled tires. Don't add heavier metal springs or your truck will buck.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Touring Kayakers and Canoeists?

We just did a week trip to Hood River with a 12'6" SUP and a small whitewater playboat kayak weighing 50lb total. We bought a speaker stand to use to help lift the roof when the racks were loaded. We used the speaker stand and broke the front wooden lift plate in two because the top of the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Custom trailers behind our campers

Hey, you will be better off roof-topping your sea kayak because you will need a pretty long trailer for a 17' sea kayak. we put 12'6 SUPs up there with no prob. We were in Edmonds yesterday, dropping paddlers off for a downwind paddle back to Golden Gardens!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 4WC + Dirtbike suggestions

What is the best way to bring along a 200lb dirtbike with the 4WC in the bed? Any luck with hitch-mounted racks? Do I need a trailer? I have Firestone HD Air Helper springs, so I'm not worried about that part. I bought this hitch-mounted basket + moto carrier that assembled weighed over...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fridge Latch

It's the lift and pull to open system getting actuated by too many watered down beers in the fridge door. Instead of 12 bottles of Corona, try a 6 pack of a strong IPA in cans. Sent from my iPhone using Wander The West

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New FWC camper, wind fairing suggestions

I got a quote from Ballard Sheet metal for $600 for a pair of the 3/8" Aluminum metal deflector 4' X 2' cut to spec like the one in this picture. I wanted to make one that also flips up to protect camper too, when parked in high wind areas of the Columbia Gorge. Does anyone else have this type...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Porpoising on highway with Hawk shell

HELLO, Porpoising is a good way to describe the "bronco bucking" problem that we HAD (on 2007 Tacoma TRD 4X4 with FWC Eagle - before the following remedies were applied: Replaced all 4 stock TRD shocks with Bilstein 5100's WITHOUT optional spacers, ADDED Firestone Ride Rite Heavy Duty air bag...
