RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ladders

I welded this up. Bolts into jack brackets with wing nut for quick attachment. Can access the roof rack pretty good and compact enough to stow away easy.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tacoma Brake Upgrade

Wow, so much good info. My Tacoma with TRD package is slightly over Gross vehicle weight. I like the idea of putting Tundra brakes on it. I've had the original rotors for some time. Thanks!!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tacoma Brake Upgrade

It’s getting time for new front brakes for my 2011 Tacoma. My current rotors are really warped, likely due to heating up when braking the truck with a loaded FWC Fleet shell. I’ve been told that it’s unavoidable. Would an upgrade kit with higher quality parts be helpful? Also, I’ve heard that...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alternate uses for jack brackets

Handy dandy ladder to access roof rack. Bicycle maintenance stand. Pretty simple home shop projects. Secured to the jack stands with bolts and wingnuts.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mounting Bike fork mount

I put two sets of bike fork mounts on the back of my Fleet for me and my wife’s mnt bikes. After one trip and some slightly bumpy gravel roads the forks on both bikes were dripping fluid from the seals. Most forks are not designed to be put in that kind of bind. I switched to a hitch mounted...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Yosemite Housekeeping Units: Pop-top friendly?

My wife and I slept in our FWC at the Housekeeping Units last year and had no problems. You can cook and hang out in the unit, then when it's time for beddy bye, retire to your camper.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rear Suspension :: Airbags vs Helper Springs

I have a 2011 Tacoma Access Cab TRD with a Fleet shell. Got the Alcan 8 leaf custom springs and Hellwig rear sway bars and absolutely love the set up. Rides like a dream

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaska Resources

Heading up to Alaska in June in our FWC Flee/Tacoma via the Bellingham, WA to Homer ferry. Gonna wander around a few months then head back south via the Alaska Highway. Has anyone used the Milepost 2017 Guide and/or the Travelers Guide to Alaskan Camping by Mike and Terry Church? If I was gonna...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Alcan springs work great, but Tacoma still a little loose in the curves

Got the springs to deal with the heavy weight of camper and gear. Definitely don't push the speed limit. Just wanting to fine tune things a bit before the next big road trip. Will look at the center of gravity, weight distribution and look into sway bars and new shocks

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Alcan springs work great, but Tacoma still a little loose in the curves

Just finished 16k road trip with my 2011 4wd Tacoma TRD and Fleet Camper. The new custom made Alcan springs I had installed before the trip worked great, but maybe I can use some more suspension upgrades before the next trip. When I'm in the curves, particularly when going downhill, the backend...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bread's Mods

Thanks! It's 3/4" square tube cold rolled steel. Not sure what gauge. The steel's about 1/8" thick

Very nice! The wooden top is attached to a metal frame. I welded the nuts, that the legs screw into, to each corner of the frame. It comes out and sets up pretty easily. I'll try and take some close up photos

No drain on the sink. It's just a basin. Can use it for lots of things including storing fruits and veggies while traveling

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bread's Mods

No. Easily comes on and off with one wingnut so you can use all the jack brackets to access the front and back tie downs. It stores under the roll out couch.

Hi all, Just want to says thanks for all the help members on this forum have given. WTW has been such a valuable resource in getting my rig ready for extended wanderings in the west and beyond. RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bike & 'yak mount

Thanks. I guess this system's not going to work out. Maybe I'll look into one of those Yakima Swing Daddys. Too bad. I really did like the simplicity and light weight of the fork hangers.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bike & 'yak mount

Anyone using the Delta fork back of the camper mounting system have any issues with too much stress being put on the front fork shocks? Granted, I noticed a fluid lead in my front fox shocks before I started using this mounting system, but after driving around a while with my bike mounted up...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Where to put Engle Fridge?

No pics right now. Camper's currently off the truck. Will post some up when I get it back together. You can recline the seat pretty far. Probably as far as you would want it for driving, but not far enough to fully recline and catch a nap. I have the Frontrunner 10 gallon footwell water tank...
