RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hitch mount bike racks

The Yakima swing away adapter (backswing) is pretty bomber. We have an OEV Camp-x not a FWC but I'm able to open the door without opening the swing arm because the adapter acts as a bit of a hitch extension. Nice for quick stops. The swing away mechanism is also very easy to use.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Do you travel with your jacks?

For our return trip, we took the tailgate off before going to get the camper and then took the jacks off and put them in the rear seat footwells.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Kayak on top of camper

Very helpful, all. Thank you. The Advanced Elements ones (or similar) look like a great option. I do love the feeling of slipping along in a real touring kayak but realistically what we'll be doing is exploring smaller lakes or rivers as opposed to any kind of expedition. @Wallowa message...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Kayak on top of camper

For those with inflatable kayaks, do they track well? My only experience is with whitewater-style "duckies". They're great when the current is doing the work but I wouldn't want to paddle any real distance under my own power.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camping Tips if You Have a Pet?

A rechargable blinking LED light on the collar is very helpful at night, particularly if you're in an area where it's reasonable to have them off leash. Particularly in the winter when "night" starts at 5:30 PM. After burning through a couple non-rechargeable (and non-waterproof) ones, we sprang...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Cooper Discoverer ATP/AT3 Tires - a Personal Critique

Just came across this recall affecting Cooper Discoverer tires, among others. Might be relevant to those on this thread: https://www.consumerreports.org/car-recalls-defects/cooper-recalls-tires-due-to-risk-of-sidewall-separation/ Cooper Tire & Rubber Company is recalling 430,000 tires from its...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Questions regarding "So, you want to setup a good electrical system in your camper?"

Thanks for sharing all of this. I'm new to campers and have been concerned about using systems I don't understand. These resources are great. I'm looking forward to tracing the electrical system with Vic's thread pulled up to get at least a working understanding of what's going on. For the AGM...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Best Cold Weather Tips

We've started looking into camper options and are particularly interested in being able to extend our comfortable camping season into the winter, whether to go skiing or (more likely) escape into the desert. Maybe we're just getting soft, but when the sun goes down at 5:00 PM and doesn't come up...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 'Warm(er)' boondocking/'mild' 4WD roads and fun areas in the SW?

St. George area has quite a lot and looks pretty warm right now. Good jumping off point for Zion, lots of dispersed camping with excellent views in the general area of Hurricane (particularly on the roads near the Guacamole and Gooseberry Mesa trailheads). Plenty of beautiful country outside of...
