You're probably already at the dealership, but autozone, checker etc. will read the code for free... at least that way you know what you're dealing with and if you need to head to the stealership. :)

So what was the result of CEL? I have a scanguage that should be able to read the code if you need it. Kyle

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Squeaky brakes

My Dodge and the S10 ZR2 I had both do it... I can't say I remember my Scrambler doing it though... not that I can hear anything after driving it for awhile anyway.

Right now I'm busy the morning of the 24th, but free the rest of the weekend... I'll run it by my better half and see what she thinks. We can be there to represent the young whippersnappers.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Locking Differential Thread

This sounds very similar to the Detroit Trutrac as well... I am running that in the front of my Jeep. It seems to work pretty well... although, not as good as a true locker.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Locking Differential Thread

I think he is talking about the axle shaft in each axle. A normal differential is designed to let one side of the axle or one wheel to overtake the other in a turn whereas a locker is designed to keep each side of the axle rotating at the same speed. There are provisions in some lockers to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Locking Differential Thread

From what I understand, some of the earlier issues w/ the OX Locker have been resolved with an improved lever/engagement mechanism. I believe the original design was just a straight cable and the new design utilizes a spring of some sort to aid engagement when the splines are not aligned...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Locking Differential Thread

I have a detroit in my Jeep and believe me, thats not what most people would want. You really know its there. The truck is open atm and if I had my choice (and the funds) I'd go with a selectable locker. Ditto... I have the same setup in my Jeep and when you shift gears, it changes lanes. I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Porch Light Mystery

I too have the switch on the bottom of the light... I believe the "main" switch near the sink also has to be on for the rear light to work... Who knows if it is the same on your Keystone or not though. Kyle

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rear Bumper Extension

It would be nice to build a custom bumper with a removable or fold up step... perhaps even adjustable depending where you end up being parked. Hmm...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Light Weight and Low Profile is Key

Ditto... it is a pretty humbling experience to drive my truck through what I would consider to be a mild offroad trail/road and to have it struggle to climb a loose rocky hill that the Jeep will just walk right up w/o slipping a tire. They are two different vehicles that I have built for 2...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Propane!

I've thought about battery and diesel for my FWC... adding a 3rd fuel source is one of the main reasons I decided against a generator and went with larger batteries instead. The last thing I wanted to do was carry around an unleaded gas can... it would be nice to eliminate the propane and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Actual cost difference of a diesel engine

Something else that can be considered is that Diesels generally have better resale. OCI are generally longer for Diesel as well. Neither choice is going to be cheap for any of us... I still prefer Diesel... LOOOOVVVVEEE that Diesel Torque curve! It's always fun to pull away from all the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Truck advice (again!)

I don't remember the cost off hand, but I remember it being pretty pricey when it first came out... If people are really seeing that improvement in mileage it might be more easily justified now. Something else that can justify the cost would be if you have the unit bearing go bad on the front...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Questions on Setting up an auxillary power system in my FWC

Jay, You didn't miss it... I've been a big slacker. The camper has been "parked" since we got back and I haven't even taken pictures of the setup or anything. It did work well. I had a happy wife who was able to take a shower in the middle of the valley of the gods and then blow dry her...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Truck advice (again!)

Just a clarification too... someone else already touched on it, but the new AAM axles don't have central disconnect, the older trucks w/ the Dana axles did. The new ones are spinning all the time as equipped from the factory, but the aftermarket has developed manual hubs for them. There has...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Truck advice (again!)

For what it is worth. I am a former Chevy guy that is now a Dodge convert. At least when it comes to 2500/3500 Diesel trucks. I have been very happy w/ my Dodge. It is probably the best vehicle I have ever owned (knocking on wood). The big pluses for me were a HD manual transmission, the...
