RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Christmas dinner in camp.

That is true; but the flavor was pretty darn good. I think the biggest advantage is the light weight and the easy clean up. As for a cast iron pan;I don't think any thing would beat it since it does retain the much needed heat to sear meats.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Christmas dinner in camp.

You gotta get a dutch oven. I'd like to get one of those nice aluminum ones someday, but I don't think they'll season like an iron one. I was skeptical to using the Aluminum Dutch oven. But I have to say that thing worked pretty good. You don’t season them like an iron one. I made a batch of...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The XPCamper's Solar system

Can you use solar as a primary power source? Well I did. I never charged the batteries through the alternator nor an extension cable; only through solar panels. I did it as a prolonged test for myself to see if it actually could be done. Having traveled now some 40.000 miles with XP1 and XP2...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Stove for Inside/Outside

But...what is the difference? I have a Coleman portable propane stove and the systems and burners and flame don't look significantly different than what's built into my FWC. In what way is a "portable" propane stove different from a built in one, and what about that difference makes it unsafe...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Stove for Inside/Outside

Again, I'm not really sure ? Just throwing my 2 cents in there. I was thinking more of how most truck camper manufacturers, travel trailers, and RV's use propane stoves inside as standard equipment. I have not seen an RV company offering a butane stove in a truck camper ? I think the propane...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Stove for Inside/Outside

When I talked to a fire marshal some years back; Restaurants and Catering services are checked periodically for obvious reasons; I was told that Butane is allowed indoors while Propane is not. Butane is not classified as a toxic gas and therefore can be stored indoors and it burns very cleanly...
