The rarer and cleaner they are, the more valuable. I've been restoring old Scouts for a few years now and they just keep going up every year. It's nice to see people appreciate quality over newness.

I would like the bottom door to open as far as the top door so that it is all the way against the right rear of the camper like the top one. Or...find a good way to keep it from closing all the time. I guess you could use a bungee cord to keep it open but I try not to "rig" anything :)

It's the best stand alone programmer for these trucks, it controls timing, fueling/defueling and torque converter along with full diagnostics.

Nope, it's a bear. We camped in Mammoth this year on the first days that the campgrounds opened. Combined with all the new campers we had some kids a few spots away that were very sloppy campers and this guy came in our site daily. I had fresh trout every day but he was always more interested...

To add to this link, the cylinder cap (on a 94' at least) is not threaded and simply pushes up and off. Re-sealed a cylinder today and maybe lost 1/2 oz. of oil. Key is to leave them all released at the lowering valve with the stops in the ones you're not working on and cycle the free cylinder...

Thank you for the replies....In the meantime I've already drilled holes and mounted to the 1x2's that run the length of the camper. I'm thinking I may just have to remove and patch the holes I've drilled :unsure: , and just buy a set of the factory racks. I REALLY wish I could have a redo on...

How about mounting? I was thinking about using 2" lag bolts to attach to the wood runners that run the length of the roof but I haven't seen any done like this. One behind the first vent and the second in front of the rear vent, using 2 bolts per foot on the racks. I've looked at the pictures...

Are the cylinder seals Alaskan only or can they be bought at Napa??? Part #'s?

I've seen a few C/O's with bracing from the camper to C/O section. When I called Alaskan he said that none come like this but I want to add my own. Does anyone know of a place where I can get some aluminum corner bracing like this?

Worked out well. I used the garage door harder black "T" type seal (garage bottom)for the lower and cabover portion and the softer type stuff " garage side and top" for the upper seals that attach from the inside and give the final interior seal. I'll update down the road for any problems...

I need to make racks for my new C/O and was wondering if anyone has any slick ideas for some homebuilts. My last camper I used stainless bathroom handrailling and it came out nice but the Alaskan is not flat on top. Any ideas?
