RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Incident at Battle Creek!

All you have to do for a safe hook up with a tow strap is to remove the reciver and ball altogether...then push the end of the tow strap into the receiver....put the pin through the tow strap loop....and there you go. Safe and simple and nothing else to have to purchase. Thank you for...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Incident at Battle Creek!

The hi-lift http://www.hi-lift.com/ will raise the wheel above the dirt, so you can back fill/shove whatever under the wheel and drive out. Throw the spare wheel on the ground, put the jack on top and try to sink that! You can raise your tire 12" off the ground. WARNING: you need the adapter...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Incident at Battle Creek!

A hi-lift jack works wonders. Been stuck on the beach so deep (Punta Final, Baja) that I had to set my hi-lift on the center of my spare wheel to keep the jack from sinking...By the time I was able to pull out, the ocean water tide come in and had reached the inside door of my camper!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Road Atlas -- a trip TOOL

The price is realistic. How does it compare to the Delorme. I liked Delorme's as they had gps tick marks, for us old school users... The problem I have with Delorme's is that they just don't differentiate much as to "off roads" and provide details. When you get down to that level, things are...

I'm no expert but could it be a '3' amp fuse??  I suppose it's possible, however it's printed upside down. Thanks, Pods.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fuse question

You will also find they are color coded. So if you cannot read the number for any reason, look up the color. Yup: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuse_%28automotive%29 Note: I really should have put this in the "other" forum. That is all, everyone move along.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fuse question

I'm no expert but could it be a '3' amp fuse??  No, it is definitely a Capitol "E", with square corners. It's weird! I may contact Littlefuse.

Found this fuse in my collection. It is an auto ATC type and is marked "Littlefuse 32v". Never seen one rated "E". Could mean it mean Everlasting? ~dr

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Thermocouple for an old Dometic

The old Dometic's 2-way and 3-way use a threaded thermocouple for mounting. After I paid $65 for a new/obsolete part, I was staring at my Mr. Heater and found this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BP7LJ2/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details $8 and a perfect fit. DR

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper Night Light

Seems expensive to crack one of those each night you need to get up verse a little LED puck. When you travel with a kid, it just happens...99 cent stores have a good selection.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper Night Light

A handy night light is those plastic light sticks that you shake and break. Hang it from the ceiling fan and it provides just the right amount of light for those P calls.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another 1/2 Ton versus 3/4 Ton Truck Question

Ditto that on 3/4 tons. As you know Jay, the Diesels do better. I'm getting ~16 mpg. Plus, at 7.3L, the thing downright moves when my foot does! How do the Cummin's perform? (P.S. I'm a Dodge bro in my previous life!)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another 1/2 Ton versus 3/4 Ton Truck Question

A 3/4 ton will provide confidence. Greater weight capacity and more importantly, larger brakes and stopping ability. My rig (see below) does not even compress the forth leaf spring in the rear. No swaying and comfortable to drive. To sum it up: "I would rather be looking at it, than looking...

I guess I'm confused here. I am looking to re-seal the screws on top of my '86 Grandby. I have a tube of 3M Marine Grade Silicone Sealant. It is specified for sealing glass, metal vinyl, etc. above the waterline. Is this a bad idea...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 3 Way vs Compressor Fridge

I have a Dometic RM2200 in my '86 Grandby. Still works, although I just took it out and cleaned the burner and chimney. I don't think that had EVER been done, so it should work better now.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Screen Door

I did it on an '86 Grandby. Terry at 4WC had to special order it. It was an easy install, perfect fit and closes better than any door in my house! My old one was held together with duct tape, so it needed to be done.
