Thanks very much for that tip, Pollux. The wires from the roof connector aren't connected to anything yet, just hanging coiled up back in the cabinet, so I think I'll just need to make sure I hook the "correct" wires to the negative terminal on the SC2030 and the battery positive terminal.

Thanks, Paul. I realize we'll lose efficiency, but for simplicity's sake, I'm gonna go with fixed for now. Just ordered Renogy 150 W panel, Z mounts, MC4 to SAE adaptor. Z mounts come with self-tapping screws that will hopefully work with 4WC frame. John

What fasteners should I use for attaching fixed solar panel Z-brackets to 4WC Finch roof frame? I was thinking stainless steel, hex/truss head, 1/4" x 3/4", self-tapping sheet metal screws. What do they use at 4WC and/or what have others used? John
