RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Used 2006 Hawk Model, Southern California, $10,000.00

I think this is the same one I just linked to (listed as a 2005 model on Craigslist) on the Used Pop Up Truck Camper Alert thread: http://www.wanderthewest.com/forum/topic/7380-used-pop-up-truck-camper-alert-thread/page-183

2014 FWC Hawk $20K, Denver CO http://denver.craigslist.org/rvs/5147461152.html Silver Spur edition front dinette, flush mounted appliances. If we were looking for a Hawk we'd probably have bought this one already (actually came close and called the seller, who seems like a straight-up guy, but...

"What do y'all with more experience think about the price of this one given its condition and age? I'd appreciate any wisdom. It would be worth it to me to make the 12 hour drive if it is fairly priced. Thanks!!!" It really depends on what condition it's in, what your needs are, and what...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone familiar with Hallmarks optimized for off-road, off-the-grid use?

Thanks for posting the photo of your short bed dodge, Driller. It's nice to see that even an 8.5 foot camper looks at home on back. We're still considering NorthStars, but the narrow dinette bed is the biggest limiting factor for us, and the side popout has the disadvantage of losing the nice...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West DSI hot water heater or tank less water heater?

I'm interested in this as well. Looking at used campers and there are a few out there that are not plumbed for outdoor showers but would otherwise meet our needs. We definitely want an outdoor shower that can be operated mostly from inside, with just a quick run outside for a dousing/ soap up/...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone familiar with Hallmarks optimized for off-road, off-the-grid use?

Thanks for the info. Bigfoot, I followed your thread about your new Hallmark, and although it sounds like the buying experience could have been better, we're leaning a bit more toward a used Hallmark than the other brands at this point (though what we buy will be largely determined by what comes...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Value of FWC Hawk

If you follow Craigslist you'll see them come up fairly regularly and mostly get sold fast. Here's a link to a web site that allows you to pull up listings from all of craigslist at once, just plug in "four wheel camper hawk": http://www.searchcraigslist.org/ Unfortunately, if the listing has...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Used Camper Alert Thread

Depends on your needs. This is one you should definitely look at in person. Looks like a funky/fun rig, but could end up being a funky pain in the arse. If nothing else it would be a great conversation piece or a cool fort for your kids. Hard to go very far wrong for $1000.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone familiar with Hallmarks optimized for off-road, off-the-grid use?

I did some more online searching and then spoke with Bill, the western sales manager for Northstar, and it definitely seems like they're worth considering. Tried and true for off-road use, not too heavy for our Dodge ram 2500 CTD with air bags. I think the TC800 makes more sense for us than the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Little human sleeping arrangements

Sorry to arrive at this party late! I suppose GBW has things well figured out by now, but it seems that others may find ongoing posts on this topic useful. We use the pea pods whenever we travel with our twins. They're 22 months old now, we've been using them since they were probably about 8...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone familiar with Hallmarks optimized for off-road, off-the-grid use?

The tc800 does look pretty luxurious, particularly with the popout. Dinette looks more spacious than other brands, and everything (fridge, sink, etc) seems designed to bring the camping experience as close to suburban living as possible. I can't see that as a bad thing, especially with kids...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another new Hallmark

This discussion is very useful to us. We're not financially set up to buy a new Hallmark but are seriously considering getting one used. We'd almost certainly be dealing with the folks at the factory for renovations/ alterations such as an updated roof and solar panels, possibly a modification...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone familiar with Hallmarks optimized for off-road, off-the-grid use?

Thanks, Bad. Nice to hear from someone who's living our dream. I spoke with Matt at the factory, and he said they offer a few options for expanding sleeping arrangements "downstairs." They'll extend the width of the dinette bed, or add a hammock above the dinette so one of our kids can sleep...

We're looking for a camper for our 3/4 ton short bed truck, to maximize off road capability but also to fit 2 adults and 2 kids in comfortably for long camping trips in remote areas. Ideally we want the following features: - Dinette that'll seat 4 fairly comfortably; - Adequate sleeping space...

They need to post some interior pics for that Fuso camper in Albuquerque! From the written description it sounds amazing inside. We're not in the market for a $189K camper but we live in Albuquerque so if anybody is interested and wants me to go check it out for you, I'll be happy to.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Removing Flexible Solar Panel

On the Renology web site it looks like gluing them down is a recommended application, but I've been talking to a friend who's a solar engineer (in preparation for buying a camper with solar, either preexisting or we'll put together our own system) and he strongly recommended a setup with air...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Pricing between FWC and ATC

We're in the same position as you right now, looking into various brands, mainly FWC and ATC. I made spread sheets reflecting our needs/desires and it seemed that ATC was about $5K (20%) cheaper for a comparable decked-out 8' camper (Grandby vs Cougar). I did notice the same trend you did, that...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Which pop up camper for our growing family?

I've already got an excel spreadsheet for a FWC Grandby and an ATC Cougar. Unfortunately ATC tips the scales at over $18K before tax ($20K after) even without some "luxuries" we'd be hard pressed to pass up, like cold weather pack and extra windows (they're bargain priced at ATC). There's a 12...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Which pop up camper for our growing family?

I've been living on the Used Pop Up Camper Alert thread for the past month and a half. Also Gear Exchange, Expedition Portal and "search all Craigslist." We've inquired about a few with no luck. The 03 you mentioned is no longer listed. We're well aware of how fast these things go...
