RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How to open upper door from inside when lowered?

Before I had ever seen an alaskan up close I wondered the same thing. I messaged brian and asked "how do you get out if the lid comes down when you're asleep?" doh.. I now have a 78 with the rod through the window sill. I'd like to figure out how to pull my tailgate up but haven't put much...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West dented white siding

welcome aboard flagman.. I know what you mean, when I first got mine I cleaned every inch and got to know every nook and cranny. There's a couple vintage RV shops that can probably match the siding but I tapped my dents back in with a smooth face and called it good. I think a interior wall...

hi david..welcome aboard. Can't help with the cabover part, but my doors are slightly out of whack. they both measure square as well as the entryway but my hinges look tweeked, even though they are screwed tight they sag. I'm gonna replace them eventually. I see nixfwc suggests a shim in the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New 1976 8ft CO owner

I placed pallets under my jacks when the truck I was loading was too high. I don't have a CO but my old 6 pack needed an inch roof clearance to keep from rubbing. Maybe 1 and 1/2", I forget. Besides a bed platform I also placed some strips on the rails. I thought 3/4" was too much play so I run...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West commiseration thread

note to self: make sure drill bit is not duller than a spoon. Got camper in the air today, pulled forward enough to jump in the bed..drill barely made a dent. Loaded back up went to home depot for a new bit, someone in the parking lot says "there's a drill on your roof" lucky me it stayed up...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West commiseration thread

it's windier than hello here today...got on the freeway, looked in the sideview and my hair stood on end. The top had risen about two inches in the front plus the lower section had risen about an inch off the rails. I thought I could get away with chaining to the 4 tie downs in the bed. Nope...
