RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West DIY Camper Build From Scratch

I made a set of lifts for my Fleet out of 3/4" square steel tube. I wanted 34" of lift so I could stand up plus a little extra room. It's sort of based on the electrical conduit design that's floating around wtw and expo, but folds more flat so it doesn't eat up matress storage space. It's...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Which Cheap Camper(s) are Good Options for a 1st Gen Tacoma (6' Bed)

There are deals out there, but as stated, they sell very fast. A nice 80's Grandby popped up last spring for $700 in Denver, sold in minutes (seller updated the listing post sale, thanking everyone for the interest, and said it sold in something like 10 minutes). Looking good. Is the Taco frame stiff enough to not be concerned about flex translating into the camper?

That is looking really, really good! What did you use for trim around the window openings? Mine are unfinished at the moment, and I like what you've done.

Awesome! Nice job. Funny, we both loaded our campers within 24 hours of one another. I have lots of interior work left to do though.

Looking good Shellback! You're making progress and doing a fine job. As my build went on I realized there's no right or wrong way to go about bringing a 35 year old camper back to life. They do take a lot of time though. Thanks for sharing.

I like it! I've repeatedly said that I should have started from scratch. Lots of fixing or altering on my Grandby rebuild/flatbed conversion.

I've been told scotch tape on the foot helps. Like a cheap teflon foot. I wonder if you could cover the base in tape to alleviate the sticking.
