RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air bag and tire pressure

Glad to hear it Otto! FYI, shocks aren’t going to help with sway. I’m a bit concerned reading your post, as I have the same truck and ordered the same camper. I’ll post my notes when it arrives

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 46 gallon Tundra tank

Transflow provides the new straps with the tank. It’s not the straps that are weak, it’s how they mount to the frame that are weak.

Yeah, they do. Big one. Not sure why someone would disconnect it

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tundra Brakes

I’ll agree with this 100%! Got my rotors turned and they were warped to hell again in 10k

Awesome, can’t wait for the updates, I’m 99% sure all the sway will be gone.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Fiamma Awning

On our last trip out to DVNP a few weeks ago, we stayed one night at Texas Springs camp. When I went to bring the trash to their dumpster there was a smaller ARB awning and a HUGE very expensive looking full size RV awning in pieces piled next to the dumpster.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Fiamma Awning

I don’t understand it either. Every time I see it, I think “oh, must be someone new to camping In the desert and not familiar with the frequent completely random winds at night”

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone install cargo track inside their campers?

Your price is off quite a bit. I got (2) 6ft sections for $40 for my last build.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What Brand is the 160 watt Solar Panel FWC Provides?

Nice! Check out my build link below. The rear area where my sears used to be is full now.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What Brand is the 160 watt Solar Panel FWC Provides?

Ah, gotcha, correct, I have not got my Hawk yet, supposedly mid February. I will most likely be making a aluminum mounting system from angle iron like they do with the solar panels.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Camper Club

I saw the folks get upset over the creation of a Facebook group. I'd love to meet more folks here and do more rallies for sure. Me personally, I am VERY rarely on an actual computer, and do almost everything from my phone. For ME, facebook is much easier to read and respond to post than here...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone install cargo track inside their campers?

Hey All Has anyone installed Cargo Track (goes by several different names) in their camper to secure loads while moving? I am still planning my build and thinking of these along the inside walls on the floor to secure camp chairs and some Rubbermaid totes while on the move. For some reason it...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What Brand is the 160 watt Solar Panel FWC Provides?

Wallowa I ordered my Hawk with the Yakima tracks. Based on pics I've seen the tracks continue to almost the very rear edge of the camper. I am thinking of making some sort of mounting system to mount them rearward of the rear vent in between the rear vent and the rear end of the roof.

    Ah.. perfect.. thanks

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Fiamma Awning

I ordered the Fiamma with my Hawk that I am waiting on... why? I am not really sure, maybe resale value? Or in the very rare instance I want to get out of the rain. I had the ARB awning on my truck over 2 years and used it twice, PITA to deploy solo and horrible in wind. If the Fiamma is...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air bag and tire pressure

The rake was specifically for steering and handling. I noticed a big difference. I’ll admit, I had no clue the proportioning valve was active like that.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air bag and tire pressure

Great explanation. I will need to check my 2014 Tundra but I don’t recall messing with a proportioning valve on the rear axle like I’ve done on prior trucks. As far as i remember, it was just 2 small brackets moving the brake lines only. But I’ll double check Thanks for great post

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air bag and tire pressure

If you’re in Socal and need either 2 or 3” spacers for the bags lemme know. I switched to the cradles and have both size spacers if you want/need them

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air bag and tire pressure

Bingo, exactly correct sir!! The 80 and 100 series Land Cruisers were SUPER sensitive to load and brakes.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air bag and tire pressure

Cool, I’ll bet you’ll be surprised how much nicer the steering/stability is with a little rake. And yeah, I’ve been off-roading my whole life and owned probably more than a dozen Toyota’s and agree, the traction control system in these things is freaking amazing. Was my first truck with it and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air bag and tire pressure

For what it’s worth, with the TUNDRA, I’ve read and been told by various reliable sources, the truck is designed to be 3/4-1” higher in the rear for handling purposes. Also, the traction control works optimal like this. I did some testing with mine, and the truck handles noticeable better with...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air bag and tire pressure

A good rule of thumb from a reliability standpoint is to have the truck almost at the right height without the bags. As in, add leafs or whatever to your springs to get them close. Use the bags as a supplement, not as a lift That way if you’re in the middle of no where and have a bag or line...
