RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Project M Campers

I have a 2014 Tundra and. 2018 FWC. I’m 6’4” and the new ones have 6’6” ceilings so ample room. But I’ll agree with it being too heavy for the Tundra out of the box. I had to do a lot of work to mine to get it to handle the weight

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Getting a Hawk home

Yeah, the EP1 swingout bumper has become the proverbial dead horse that keeps getting beat in the Tundra groups due to the rage its bringing many owners with the issues of the latches. 2 folks i know personally went back and forth with EP1 for almost a year and eventually both sold their...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Project M Campers

I've been following this and very curious to hear more details. But from what i can tell, its going to have one of the main issues/reasons i went with an FWC, DUST intrusion. A great idea in theory, and I'm itching to see more details, but i think it would be a MUCH MUCH harder product to pull...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Elec-trickery help

2 different brand Lithium’s I’ve personally owned that just died. Both less than a year old. Swapped over all my motorcycles to lithium batteries after falling into the hype. Used lithium specific battery tenders for them. Forgot to plug it in for 3 weeks, was dead as a door nail, wouldn’t...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Elec-trickery help

Is the Renogy battery a Lithium by chance? Sometimes they just simply DIE for no reason if left alone for a couple weeks and wont even take a charge. If its an AGM or lead battery, have you tried charging it at all?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tacoma/Swift - Firestone ride—wrong

I ran the bags / cradles (with proper bracket spacer) for awhile on my 2014 Tundra / Hawk combo. I HATED the weird undulation they would cause on fireroads at any sort of speed. I tried and messed with all pressures, etc, and it wouldnt go away. I added a second add a leaf to the Dakar packs...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I hope the camper is better than the buying

I bought my FWC through Rocky Mountain Four Wheel Campers and Chris Janeway was my sales guy, We used Bank of the West for the financing and he coordinated everything with the bank seemlessly. It was a very pleasant, stress free experience all around. Hope yours goes smoothly

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Flatbed Fuel Filler Issues... Need Advice and/or Pics Please?

Thanks Rando Yeah, this bed is being built for the camper and will be bolted to it AND have turnbuckles as extra support. It will be on full time and no removed. No need for headache rack and trying to mount the camper as far forward as possible and at least getting the COG right over the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Flatbed Fuel Filler Issues... Need Advice and/or Pics Please?

Im not sure how that filler neck location on that Norweld tray and Tacoma could work. Even before I got my camper, my bed flexed enough it would definitely crush the filler if it was in that position. My cab has 2 small dents in it from where the bed has flexed into it

Thank Rando Yeah, my tray and boxes will be a bit different. I installed the big 46 gallon transfer flow tank which sits a bit higher than stock and making this even more of a project to route cleanly. Thanks

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rear Cargo Box Suggestions for Tundra and Hawk?

Its not cheap, but I got the 46 Gallon Transferflow tank in my 2014 Tundra and can honestly say its the best mod I've done by far. Even with the horrible MPG and having the camper on, I have a 450 mile range between fills and don't have to mess around with extra cans.

Since its been awhile since i first replied to this post, and i've spent about a dozen nights in my Hawk since. Here is some things i'd change. I'm with Vic on the bedding frustration. With the bed pulled out, the front dinette is basically useless in a hawk. Im a photographer and often...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bolting A Slide in FWC Hawk to a Flatbed Questions...

Thanks All I spoke to Aaron at FWC. He was very helpful. I was kind of surprised/revealed that when they bolt slide ins down instead of the turnbuckles, there is not formula or specific spot they use to do it. He just said to make sure it went through the slats on the bottom of the floor...
