RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Diesel vs Gas Superduty's

Some people think gas engines are only good for 150k miles. My brother in law has a 2000 f250 v10, 250k miles and running fine. I see lots of ford vans with either the 5.4 or v10 with 300-400k miles. My dad was a Buick guy back in the 70's-80's. He went through 3 of them, 2 electras and a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC not permitted at Washington State Park Tent sites

A few years ago I tried to get a tent site closer to the beach at a private campground, I had a northstar popup and the manager said no. My friend had a box van and said he was tent camping. He put up a small tent but slept in his van. I paid about $35 to camp 300' from the beach while he paid...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West is it ever pleasurable to camp in super hot weather...

I used to live in the Sacramento Valley and can't imagine wanting to camp anywhere near there in the scorching summer, always headed up in the mountains. Camping for me is about beautiful scenery and nice weather.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Retirement

I "kinda,sorta,semi-retired" last year at 50, The last 20 years I worked for a small water agency. We had had enough of the rat race so we moved to the mountains and are living very, very modest for a while, freedom is addicting. I used to have an 02 f350 diesel in excellent cond. that I never...

How about some type of driving/delivery job. I know there are some jobs that drive RV's or cars across country. I recently semi, kinda, somewhat retired last year and will eventually try to find some type of odd, random driving job. My problem is I don't like to be in one place very long, I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Why is it that...

That just brought back memories of a young , new worker we had years ago. He was obsessed with WD40. He would always spray the outside of the carberator on the chainsaws and weedeaters, not sure why , it made a crusty mess.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Current fridge options

On our 3 way Dometic fridge, we run it on propane all of the time. It seems like a hassle to keep going back and forth between propane and 12 volt. Every time you stop for an extended period you would have to switch back and forth between the two.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Guess what I found out about the '17 Ford Super Duties.

What engine do you prefer ? My old work truck was a 2013 F350 supercab, shortbed,4wd, AT,service bed, probably at gvw ~ 9,000# and it was kind of gutless, not sure what gears it had. My personal truck is an 02 f350 7.3 I was thinking about getting rid of my nice 02 and getting a cheaper v10...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Custom Truck Bed Build Options

I was thinking of doing a similar flatbed. One Idea I had was to use a torklift or similar bracket that goes through the back side of the boxes and to have a turnbuckle inside the box in each corner. I think with your fab skills you could come up with a strong bracket that extends from the frame...

Thanks for the suggestions. On this trip we just want to relax and check out all of the beaches and small towns. I'm going to try and plan ahead so things will go as smooth as possible.
