Some shots from a little trip across the Sierra and down 395 earlier this month. Went from snow to sun to freezing - all in the course of a couple days - welcome to the Sierra in October!

That's a good solution. The problem for me is that I often carry a bike rack on the back, so even though the camera in it's current position is perfect without the rack - as soon as I put bikes on it's obscured... I'd kind of like to mount it up high (like the stock position on a sprinter van)...

Super nice rig - I have the same color DCLB Tacoma with an Eagle shell. Did you set up a back up camera on yours? I have a second camera I bought - and have temporarily rigged in above the license plate, but have been looking for a better long term solution.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Satellite Radio Antenna

Hey there, I am trying to figure out how to get the XM radio to work when the camper is on. I've been told by at least one local shop that it's "impossible" to use a different antenna, but clearly that doesn't seem to be the case... What type of aftermarket antenna did you use? Was there...

What are the bumpers you did on the truck? They look good!

I've ridden my bike around those trails a fair bit. I was once right there at that same windmill in some of the worst mud I've ever known to exist! I do love Gooseberry - one of the best camping / recreation spots I've found.

That looks like an amazing spot! I haven't camped down in Baja at all, and have only been as far as Rosarito Beach... Looking at all the photos people here have posted have planted the seed of travel desire.

There is a ton of camping down there. It's a state park but is not regularly serviced by the rangers, so it's more of a dispersed camping kind of layout. During the week there would be tons of room, but I have been cautioned that on the weekends it can be kind of rowdy with people going up...

I've only camped there once but been up a few other times to visit. Each time I've seen a number of people during the day visiting, but when I camped I was the only person there overnight. Do you see a lot of people there if you camp mid-week?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The "Eagle Model" will be discontinued on March 1st, 2016

I bought an Eagle model in Spring of 2015 and I love it! I looked at the Fleet, but I definitely wanted the slimmer profile of the Eagle. I just didn't want the camper to hang over the edges of the truck bed as much as the Fleet does - both for aesthetic and practical reasons (squeezing through...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Trip to White Clouds Mountains of Idaho and the McKenzie river in Oregon

It is true that portions of the White Clouds have been designated wilderness (as of beginning of August). The forest service in the area is still in "educational mode" and no signs or proper designations have been posted, but they are coming. So next year you can still legally bring up to 20...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Trip to White Clouds Mountains of Idaho and the McKenzie river in Oregon

Camping near Castle Peak. Just south of Stanley - about 10 miles into the white clouds on the east side of 75. Was pretty smoky from the eastern Oregon fires so left after a few days and went over into the Cascades.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Trip to White Clouds Mountains of Idaho and the McKenzie river in Oregon

Hi all, I have enjoyed reading lots of your posts here and so I thought I would share a few photos from my last little trip to Idaho and Oregon. I've owned different camping rigs over the last 10 years, but this last spring took delivery of a new Eagle Shell model (with propane heater and stove...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Boondocking Mendocino area?

Hi, There's camping on the beach at Navarro River SP (Hwy 1 just south of Hwy 128). You can stay at the parking lot across from Van Damme for one night only I believe, but there's always space there. Along Hwy 20 - east of Ft Bragg - there are a couple smaller less developed campgrounds. It's...
