RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I’ve gone hard sided

Nice! I like the form + function of this rig. Just saw one on highway 25 in CO ( driving a rental putt-putt, not a rig trip ) and in person the size looks very manuverable - not too little, not too much. Hope to hear about B.C!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Evolution of Tent to Truck Camping

Thanks for the stories, this is so relatable. Dad and us kids used to camp in what I called the " Charlie Brown Tent", a little blue triangle that stayed up, barely - sagged when dry and sank when wet. Half length sleeping bag mats that seemed to move around and expose the rocks all night. Had a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tired of High Tech

Oh boy I am refraining from a high tech rant...due to personal opinion and my own Pauli effect I kept things manual in my truck as much as I could... Might not apply to anyone's vehicles here but when the 'check engine' light goes on in my car, more often or not the gas cap needs an extra twist...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West You know you're a geezer when.......................

( You know you're a geezer when)...you find a bunch of your exact gear behind museum display glass and in protected storage at the American Alpine Club headquarters, to educate folks on" What They Used Then", and for historical significance. Okay it's my father's stuff I've poached but dang...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West GVWR and Borders

Pet papers, as in rabies vaccine, any other vaccines or licenses I'm spacing at the moment? Going from Canada-US my parents were busted with a trunk full of Red River Cereal. Mom had a habit.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I need to hear a good new joke

Newfoundland + Poodle = Noodle, this joke was told to me by owners of a Noodle/Newdle at work. In real life this particular Noodle looked like a 200 lb ( yes really! ) Fozzy Bear.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I need to hear a good new joke

These are hysterical. This isn't a specific joke per se, but a general hoot; once upon a time, very briefly, I earned a pilot's license in a Citabria with the best instructor ever - Vietnam vet who was the aerobatics instructor. When we flew into rural airports he would feed me lines to say...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Milts Illustrated Journals in Review

This is fabulous, Milt!! Do you ever give landscape lessons? ( Asking in pure selfishness ) I draw some but landscapes err elude me. I like how the words don't overpower the illustrations either, they add to it. Bravo!!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The End of the Beginning, The Beginning of the New Chapter

Some of my ideal places to put things in is tweaked due to having an awning - gotta put a few heavier things on the opposite side to even out the roof rise. The other heavier things of course are down and front in the utility bed. Feels great on the road. Mostly kitted out barring a few items...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2017 f-350 service body-warrenty

I went with Skaug for the utility bed. They're in southern California. Prices seemed the same at the places I looked, and Alaskan Campers said Skaugs fit their campers the best, so I went with them. My memory is swiss cheese and for the life of me can't remember the weight of the bed...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The End of the Beginning, The Beginning of the New Chapter

Storage inside, out, or both? I'm still in the process of arranging stuff etc,..but personally I LOVE the utility bed even more than I've expected. It's been super handy from the day I picked up the truck. Caveat that being using it in the process of emptying the childhood home/moving a parent...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West July 4th CA camping w/dog?

This is a bit early, but does anyone have suggestions on quiet places to camp over July 4 that are roughly 4 hrs ( plus/minus) from the CA Bay Area? I have a big dog that gets traumatized by fireworks. I'm thinking redwoods, but being a holiday I'm also hoping to avoid tons of people too...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Still have something you had as a kid?

Fun thread! In my rig I keep a wooden baseball bat from 'bat day' at Candlestick Park , when they gave bats to kids! Sponsored by Atari I'm dating myself. Not from my childhood, but I have my grandfather's mint condition sextant (?!) which I also put in the rig thinking it'd be fun to learn to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The End of the Beginning, The Beginning of the New Chapter

Oooo great use of the tailgate for firewood. For now I'm going to put a mat down at the back so it'll be a 'patio' at least. Shake it out when done, toss in a sack, put in a rear utility box. For my dog I got a portable ramp. That plus the promise of going somewhere fun can get him in. I also...

Thanks, everyone! Annnnnd here's the interior. Of course this is the cleanest it'll ever look heh: Here's the better homes n gardens shot. My own little house looks like....whatever..., but for some reason the ambiance of an 8' camper gained critical importance. One thing I might regret...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2017 f-350 service body-warrenty

I have a '17 F350 w/utility bed and didn't have a problem with the warranty. That said it's probably worth a couple of calls because my bed is steel, I also ordered my truck and had it shipped straight to the utility body company before I picked it up at the dealer. Good luck!
