RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2018 F-350 manual locking hubs?

On a silly note, I opted for the manual 4x4 shift-on-the-floor on my F350 due to my very own Pauli Effect where electronics seem to tweak out in my presence. Not a big 4x4er but I'm safety oriented and when I can I opt for manual...and keep me away from your phones, computers, etc..I'm famous...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bottle jack and air compressor recommendations?

Hi everyone, I'm looking for bottle jack and air compressor recommendations - FYI for 2017 Ford 350 w/heavy camper ( and so tall! ). Willing to pay more for a longer lasting, safe jack. Asking around where I live hasn't yeilded much info, plus the nearby auto parts store had not much at all...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Low Cost Mods

This isn't a mod per se, but I picked up a combo belt/bottle opener and haven't travelled without it since! $12 in some places online, I got mine - which should still be under $25 - at REI with a gift certificate, so in my case it was free. Says 'unisex' but fyi for anyone looking I found it...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Route Plan for 1st time solo female

My last minute 2 cents...years ago my bff moved from Portland OR to Oklahoma City and we drove the route, didn't have a lot of time ( but two drivers helped of course. ) Went through eastern OR spent a night in Ogden Utah....another in Zion National Park...stayed just outside and drove through...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Trucks for an Alaskan Camper

I will be putting the padding over a thin storage area to hold the ramp, but hadn't thought about extending the padding upwards, which is a GREAT idea! Totally doing that. The ramp is portable - folds up like a thin suitcase - and we've started to practice with it at home over the stairs...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Trucks for an Alaskan Camper

You're spot on, Pack Rat. I want make a low platform where I can store the dog ramp ( tall truck, dog w/bad knees ), then his seating/bedding above that. He has a car harness already, but I'll have to figure out how to utilize that sans the seats. Another member w/dogs has put up a strong...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Trucks for an Alaskan Camper

Any day now!!! Been a delay. I'm going out of town again for an arts festival but upon return will begin my campaign of dealer harassment  Can't wait. First thing I'm going to do is take out the back seats of the extended cab and create Dog Kingdom. If anyone wants some Ford '17 seats... ;)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Roof rack compatibility

I did all of the above, thanks everyone! Looks like I can combo the components. Another factor I was thinking about is the curve of the Alaskan roof: I drive a '02 Civic and putting the rack on top of that was a minor debacle due to roof curve - and that was with a 'pro' installer ( another...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Roof rack compatibility

Hi everyone, I've had a surf rack on my car for ages, and now for my camper I'd like to configure a system that can carry boards and/or a kayak. Are different brands of crossbars compatible with other brands of kayak mounts, for example? Or for example's sake, does a Yakima only work with a...
