RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Pics from Alaskan factory visit

The wood smell was intoxicating! Never went to prom but prancing around the Alaskan Factory is probably a better deal :D It's rare enough to see one Alaskan but to be surrounded by them in all stages was mind boggling. Here's another ( lousy, excuse the glare ) pic from their entry wall.

And here's their break room kitchen plus a framed sign. I've thoughtfully added the ceiling light reflections so everyone can see they're up to code. Great visit!

Good grief I don't know why these pictures are jumping all over the place. Here's a bigger picture of the factory, and a jacket we should all have.

Here's some photos from a couple of weeks ago when I visited the Alaskan factory in Winlock. Had a blast, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I'm still figuring out the picture-loading steps so excuse any goofups. My photography is also spectacular ... My two favorites are below. Love the...

They have an option for insulated flooring, I'm not sure if that includes the cabover or not. I'll be at their factory in a couple of weeks and can find out ( in addition to a zillion other newb questions I'm sure! )

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Pulled the Trigger Yesterday

Thanks for the info, Canyon and AllanB! Very good to know. Hmm. I've also been delaying truck purchase as for other purposes the aluminum would probably suit me well and I wanted to see how it turned out. Have favored the Ford as I grew up w/a Dodge that was, er....dodgy ( terrible joke sorry )...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Favorite Books

Feel free to ignore if this suggestion is too off-topic, but one of my all time favorite books is, 'Winterdance', by Gary Paulsen. True story of training for ( in Minnesota ) and running the Iditarod. I've never laughed out loud so much reading a book as I have with this one! Enjoy...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West My Christmas Miracle

Exactly Sage, you just nailed the flaw in my thinking. " But it's FRUIT, so it has to be good for me! " Rolling along in my state of happy denial...d'oh. Seriously though, way to go on the hard-won 'miracle'.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West My Christmas Miracle

Great achievement, Sagebrush! Sugar is my downfall, but I've found seedless grapes are a great snack for road trips, especially when it's hot. Sweet and no crumbs! I keep them in a cooler and pull them out bunch by bunch. At this point I feel like a rolling commercial for seedless grapes...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Trucks for an Alaskan Camper

Thanks for the input everybody. Ideally I'd like a reliable used - ha in my dreams - but seeing how I know small planes a little bit but not trucks your replies are very helpful. I'm currently curious about the F250 and your opinions on gas vs. diesel?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Trucks for an Alaskan Camper

Hi everybody, A newbie here. After many years of dreaming and scheming I'm finally starting the process of putting together an Alaskan/truck combo. Choosing the Alaskan Camper is decided, however I'm not so familiar with trucks and would like to nail down the truck/heavy camper combo to the...
