RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Swift camper opinions

Thank you!! The options I I ordered for the Swift were 2 way fridge, furnace, water heater w/outside shower, Yakima tracks, rear wall steps, floodlights, thermal pack and the exterior gas strut assist. I already have a new portable 80 watt Zamp solar panel with controller, and I have already...

Well I finally did it, I placed my deposit down over the weekend for my Swift build. It will hopefully be done by the end of May beginning of June. It is going to be good summer filled with camping and exploration. I won't miss the days of packing and unpacking all of the usual camping...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lift Struts

Oregon troutbum, I heard they did do some retrofitting for their gas strut prep only. The reason I uploaded the document for Trappermike was primarily so he could see what gas struts he needed and the length. FWC price for the whole installation is $325. The Prep with the ball joints is $100 and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lift Struts

See the attached file for the FWC gas struts. I will be purchasing my FWC next week and I am only having them to do the exterior gas strut prep. The struts are easy to attach and a lot cheaper to do it myself.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tacoma TRD vs TRD sport

I have a 2008 Toyota Tacoma TRD OFF ROAD (Baja model) DC short bed, and it is a great truck. I use it for all of my camping and back road trips. Having the short bed is easier to park for me. I can whip my truck around in tight places (roads) where others have a tough time. I do however wish I...

I do have one question. I thought external tie downs were a must for the 5 ft bed Tacoma's. Do you have them?, or am I just not seeing it in the pictures.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Swift camper opinions

I have always been a small truck guy due to the back roads I like to get on. We all know some of those turns in the hills can be tight and with a smaller truck its a lot easier. Putting a camper on it will make it a tad bit more challenging as far as weight wise. I plan on getting out there and...

Thank you very much for the insight, especially when you have experienced and slept in both models. Your pictures are great and it really clears things up for me on my purchase. I am going to stay with my truck and go with the swift model.

I too am thinking that I might grow out of the Swift model as well. I do a lot of camping in the summer where I would like to do more in the winter.I am thinking about buying a 2015/16 Tacoma DC TRD off road with a six foot bed to be able to purchase the Fleet model with the front dinette. This...

I have been thinking about upgrading to a full size truck to purchase a larger FWC. I currently have a 2008 Toyota Tacoma double cab short bed. For those of you who own a Swift, is the camper worth it or would you upgrade your truck and a larger model of a camper? If you have pictures available...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Water pump doesn't shut off on 2015 fleet

I know this question is off topic, but what color interior did you get in your FWC? Do you have pictures? I have a Tacoma and I am debating on what interior to get. The Silver Spur or the standard.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Cajita interior built in to the Swift model

Let me clarify what I meant by the "Bells and whistles." I spoke to ATC as well and that was a word they used. Meaning if a person wants hot water, outside shower, and different fabric choices to name a few. I would like to see the forward dinette plan as well. Looking at the width it could be...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Cajita interior built in to the Swift model

For us Toyota Tacoma owners with the five foot bed, we are only limited to the Swift model. At ATC they will install their six foot "Bobcat" model on the five foot bed. But, they do not have all the bells, and whistles I would like to have. Many are thinking, why not buy a bigger truck? My truck...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West DSI hot water heater or tank less water heater?

I have seen a build where a guy installed one inside is cabinet. It was a no flute tank less water heater. I was just thinking on purchasing the shell and then building my interior the way I want it. I do want hot water and a sink.
