    I emptied/purged the water system before we left, I didn't want to have to even worry about it freezing. It was about 11 degrees in the Black Hills of Dakota the first night and the forcast for the first part of the trip was, cold. Used a solar shower by midweek.

    Thanks for the replies. I opened the awning a couple feet, drilled out the rivets, and easily removed the awning. I will use bolts/lock nuts when it goes back on.

    It looks like the brackets are bolted to the camper. But the awning is mounted to the brackets with rivets?
